No, she’s not returning to General Hospital as Carly or as someone else who looks like the old Carly, but Sarah Joy Brown has made a VERY big move.
On Labor Day, a day that honors American workers, Brown announced she would no longer be working in the acting industry.
Her cryptic tweet saying she retired from acting months ago left some people confused as she blamed her decision on knowing that “powers that be” were determined to ruin her career.
She went on to name all the major networks and concluded her announcement with the hashtag, #RATS.
On Wednesday, she tweeted that CBS CEO Les Moonves was responsible for her being fired from the primetime series, Cold Case.
The actress was also quite outspoken about the way women are treated in Hollywood when the #MeToo movement began late last year.
Brown originated the role of Carly Roberts Benson Corinthos back in 1996 and quickly made the character a force to be reckoned with as she got revenge on Bobbie for giving her up for adoption by sleeping with Bobbie’s husband, Tony.
The actress left the role in 2001 and was replaced by Tamara Braun (now Kim). Laura Wright, who currently plays Carly, has been doing so for more than a decade.
Brown returned to GH in 2008 and 2009 in a brand-new role, Claudia Zacchara. There was no mention of her resemblance to Carly of days gone by, as Kim’s resemblance to another Carly has never been spoken of.
The actress also had roles on As the World Turns, The Bold and the Beautiful, and Days of Our Lives.
