Kind reminder that the images you see on social media (such as this one) are usually taken after hours of beauty gurus working their magic and are also layered with filters. It can be difficult to separate reality from this platform, especially since our brains are constantly in a state of informational overload. We are exposed to images that are meticulously chosen to perpetuate the illusion of a “perfect life” or a “perfect body” etc. Life is never the way it looks on Instagram, trust. It is taxing on our mental health and f*cks with our clarity. It manipulates how we feel about ourselves and our own lives. It can make us feel inadequate. It can make us feel guilty about not putting in enough effort to attain a certain lifestyle. I know it can be tough- but try to avoid comparing yourself to what you see in others. Learn to be comfortable with where you’re at in life. We’re all on our own journey with timing that will work itself out. Celebrate the successes of your peers, and just wait for the blessings because they’re coming (being alive and well is a blessing in itself)💕My sister inspired me to use my “influencer” power in a beautiful way today, so here we are. #loveyoself #loveyoinsides 🤘🏼
