Soaps have done some far-out storylines over the decades in attempts to shake up the medium.
Here’s a look at 10 of the most outlandish plots that soaps have ever done.
And while these story ideas aren’t limited to daytime (on the list are Dallas’ dream season and the Moldavian Massacre on Dynasty in which a church filled with series regulars was sprayed with bullets — and only two guest stars died?), the majority of the ridiculous stories are ones from daytime TV!
The outlandish stories covered in this video include, but aren’t limited to Pam (Alley Mills) covering Donna (Jennifer Gareis) with honey and then hoping a bear would eat her on The Bold and the Beautiful; Clint (Clint Ritchie) going back in time on One Life to Live); and Reva (Kim Zimmer) the clone on Guiding Light.
The top two are the possession of Marlena (Deidre Hall) on Days of Our Lives and the freezing of Port Charles on General Hospital!
