The soap opera ratings race for the week ending November 9 show your favorite daytime dramas making a numbers comeback, sans one.
The Bold and the Beautiful
Number two-ranked The Bold and the Beautiful was the only soap to see serious overall losses.
The CBS soap garnered 3,347,000 viewers on average overall, down 10,000 from the week before and a whopping 375,000 from the year before.
Perhaps the shift off the Liam/Steffy/Hope triangle to a battle between Quinn and Pam has startled viewers and also left them disappointed.
B&B also lost viewers almost universally in the four female demographics, except for a slight gain from the prior week with women 18-49.
The Young and the Restless
Sister soap The Young and the Restless kept its number-one rank, pulling in 4,126,000 viewers on average overall, up 70,000 from the prior week, but down 475,000 from the prior year.
Fans have seemed frustrated with the show of late as new characters seem to be taking over Genoa City, but the idea of perhaps possibly wrapping up the JT plot may have brought some fans back.
Y&R also made gains from the previous week in all three female demos.
General Hospital
General Hospital, which seemed to have hemorrhaged viewers this past year, had a better week than expected. GH pulled in 2,382,000 viewers on average overall, up 155,000 from the prior week, but down 326,000 from the same time last year.
GH also gained viewers from the week before in all three female demos.
Days of Our Lives
Days of Our Lives is still the fourth place soap out of four remaining soaps but is the only soap to have gained viewers on a fairly consistent basis all year.
DAYS garnered 2,255,000 viewers on average overall, up 77,000 from the week before and 50,000 from the year before.
However, DAYS lost viewers from both the previous week and year in all three women’s demographics.
