The soap opera ratings race for the week ending April 7 show Days of Our Lives hitting new lows in one key demographic, while other soaps have mixed numbers.
Days of Our Lives
Days of Our Lives (DOOL) remained in last place overall as per usual, garnering 2,092,000 viewers on average overall, down 102,000 from last week and 166,000 from the week before.
It tied its overall low and then set a brand-new record with women 18-49, dropping 28,000 from the previous week and 89,000 from the previous year.
The Young and the Restless
The Young and the Restless (YR) kept its number one perch, faring better than it has in recent weeks. It pulled in 4,567,000 viewers on average overall, up 103,000 from the week before, but down a whopping 502,000 from the same time last year.
In the key female demos, Y&R made gains with women 18-49 and 25-54.
The Bold and the Beautiful
Sister soap The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) saw overall losses just like DAYS. It garnered 3,540,000 viewers on average overall, down 69,000 from the previous week and 340,000 from the previous year.
The only category in which B&B made any gains was with women 25-54, where it was up a mere 5,000 viewers.
General Hospital
General Hospital (GH) saw modest improvements, pulling in 2,574,000 viewers on average overall. It was up 72,000 viewers from the week before, but down 226,000 from the year before.
GH also made gains from the previous week with women 18-49 and 25-54. In fact, in th 25-54 demo, it also saw improvement from the previous year.
