The soap opera ratings race for the week ending June 15 show the summer NOT off to a hot start for your favorite soaps.

Days of Our Lives
While Days of Our Lives (DOOL) is ranked at number four as usual, it continues to show it’s a whole other soap than it was a year ago.

DAYS garnered 2,231,000 viewers on average overall, down 100,000 from the week before, but up a whopping 241,000 from the year before.

The 52-year-old soap also made gains from the year before in the female demographics. With women 18-34 it made gains from both the prior week and year, and even overtook General Hospital (GH) for the number three spot.

General Hospital
However, GH was the only other soap to see improved numbers overall. It pulled in 2,454,000 viewers on average overall, down 32,000 from the previous week, but up 90,000 from the same time next year.

With women 18-49 it made gains from both the week before and year before and overtook The Bold and the Beautiful for the number two spot.

The Young and the Restless
The number one-rated The Young and the Restless (YR) continued to see lower numbers. It garnered 4,105,000 viewers on average overall, down 54,000 from the prior week and 48,000 from the prior year.

Y&R only saw gains from the year before with women 18-34.

The Bold and the Beautiful
Sister soap The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) didn’t do much better, pulling in 3,357,000 viewers on average overall, down 146,000 from the week before and 33,000 from the year before.

Like Y&R, B&B only saw gains from the previous year with women 18-34.
