The soap opera ratings race for the week ending January 27 saw an overall numbers jump for The Young and the Restless, yet mixed numbers for the other three daytime dramas.
The Young and the Restless
The Young and the Restless maintained its number one perch as per usual, pulling in 4,767,000 viewers, up 104,000 from the week before, yet down 328,000 from the year before. Y&R also made gains from the year before for women 18-49 and 25-54, yet lost viewers in all three demographics from the previous year.
The Bold and the Beautiful
Sister soap The Bold and the Beautiful lost viewers overall, garnering 3,818,000, but losing 43,000 from the week before and 156,000 from the year before. It also lost viewers from the previous year and previous week in all three female demos, except women 18-49, in which it was up 24,000 from the week prior.
General Hospital
General Hospital came in third as expected, pulling in 2,636,000 and taking a hit in numbers. It was down overall 128,000 from the week before and 424,000 from the year before. GH didn’t fare well in the female demographics either, only gaining 8,000 from the week before with women 18-49. In every other category, it lost viewers.
Days of Our Lives
Days of Our Lives also had bad news over all, garnering 2,260,000 viewers overall, down 32,000 from the previous week and 418,000 from the previous year. However, the soap was up from the week before in all three female demos, yet down from the year before.
