The soap opera ratings race for the week ending July 1 saw a major loss in numbers for “Bold and the Beautiful” and modest gains for “General Hospital.”

While B&B maintained its place as the number 2 soap, it only brought in 3,615,000 viewers on average, down by 126,000 overall viewers from the week before and 105,000 viewers from the same time last year. It also lost viewers in every major demographic, with its biggest drop coming in the female 25-54 demo. It was down 13,000 viewers from the previous week and 136,000 viewers from the previous year.
GH Makes Gains
Meanwhile, GH maintained its number 3 spot, but 2,757,000 overall viewers on average, up 22,000 from the week before and 218,000 from the year before. It gained viewers in each demographic from the previous year, but saw modest losses from the week before in the 18-34 and 25-54 female demos.
Mixed News for DAYS and Y&R
“The Young and The Restless” and “Days of Our Lives” maintained their number 1 and number 4 rankings, respectively. Each show lost overall viewers from both the week before and the year before. However, DAYS made gains from the previous week in the 25-54 demo and the 18-34 demo. Y&R made gains from the week before in the 18-49 female demo and the 25-54 demo.
