The soap opera ratings race for the week ending June 30 show mixed numbers overall, but better numbers for one fledgling soap.
Days of Our Lives
Days of Our Lives (DOOL) came in last place as always of the four daytime soaps, but it was the only one to make any gains overall.
DAYS garnered 2,057,000 viewers on average overall, gaining a very slight 7,000 from the previous week but losing 37,000 from the previous year.
That’s some good news for the low-rated soap, but it also tied a new low with women 25-34. Thankfully, it made gains in the other two female demographics.
The Young and the Restless
While The Young and the Restless (YR) remained number one and took in 4,247,000 viewers on average overall, it was down 101,000 from the week before and 425,000 from the year before.
However, Y&R did make gains in all three key female demographics from the week before but lost viewers from the previous year.
The Bold and the Beautiful
Sister soap The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) came in second, garnering 3,399,000 viewers on average overall, down 151,000 from the week before and 216,000 from the same time last year.
B&B also didn’t fare well in the demographics, only making slight gains from the week before with women 18-34.
General Hospital
General Hospital (GH) once again took third place of four soaps, pulling in 2,432,000 viewers on average overall, down 7,000 from the week before and 325,000 from the week before.
The only place GH made any gains was with women 18-49, where it was up 10,000 viewers from the previous week.
