Soap Opera Ratings
The soap opera ratings race for the week ending November 17 show one soap demonstrating signs of life once again while others posted mixed numbers.
Days of Our Lives
Days of Our Lives (DOOL) saw the biggest gains of all four soaps, pulling in 2,257,000 viewers on average overall, up 53,000 from the week before, but down 6,000 from the year before.
DAYS also saw gains in all three female demographics over the previous week, but not the previous year.
General Hospital
General Hospital also posted better numbers, garnering 2,722,000 viewers on average overall, up 16,000 from the previous week and 6,000 from the previous year. It was the only soap to make gains from both the week and year before.
GH maintained its number two spot in all three female demos, and also made gains from the week before in all.
The two CBS soaps showed contrasting results in terms of losses and gains from DAYS and GH.
The Young and the Restless
While The Young and the Restless was of course number one, pulling in 4,549,000 viewers on average overall, it was down 67,000 from the week before and 10,000 from the year before.
Y&R did see slight gains from the previous week with women 18-34 and 25-54.
The Bold and the Beautiful
Sister soap The Bold and the Beautiful came in number two as per usual but saw the most losses. It garnered 3,545,000 viewers on average overall, down 155,000 from the prior week and 174,000 from the prior year.
B&B also saw losses in all three female demos from both the week before and the year before.
