Steven Weber is a film, television, and theater actor who has appeared in shows like Wings, Desperate Housewives, Law & Order: SVU, NCIS: New Orleans, and 13 Reasons Why. He has also been on a soap.
Weber’s first movie role was in The Flamingo Kid, and he has also done voice work throughout his career. From where he was born and raised to his work with Stephen King, here are five fast facts about the actor.
Weber was born on March 4 in Briarwood, Queens, New York. His mother was a nightclub singer while his father was a nightclub manager. He graduated from the High School of Performing Arts in Manhattan and then went on to attend the State University of New York at Purchase.
Soap Beginnings
Weber started acting in the third grade after he was cast in commercials. After leaving college, he won the role of Kevin Gibson on As the World Turns, where he played Julianne Moore’s boyfriend on the show.
Jack Nicholson Connection
Weber is arguably best known for playing Brian Michael Hackett on the show Wings. In one episode, in particular, he puts on a pair of dark sunglasses and does a Jack Nicholson impression. As it turned out, Weber went on to play Jack Torrance in the TV version of The Shining a few years later, a film role originated by Nicholson.
Weber has been in three Stephen King adaptations throughout his career, but that’s not where his connection with the author ends. He is also the narrator of the audiobook version of IT.
