Jason Biggs is best known for playing Jim Levenstein in the American Pie series, but the actor has appeared in everything from Orange Is the New Black to Anything Else, Jersey Girl, Eight Below, and Over Her Dead Body. He was also on a soap.
Along with his work in comedy, Biggs has also done theater. From where he was born and raised to starring in an iconic music video, here are five fast facts about the talented actor.
Biggs was born on May 12 in Pequannock Township, New Jersey. He grew up in Hasbrouck Heights and went to Hasbrouck Heights High School. He then attended New York University before transferring to Montclair State University. However, he decided to drop out in order to pursue acting.
Soap Beginnings
Biggs started acting when he was a kid, but his television breakthrough came when he landed the role of Pete Wendall on As the World Turns in 1994. While he was only on the show for a year, he was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actor.
Theater Background
Along with being in movies and on television, Biggs has also performed on Broadway. He made his debut when he was young in the show Conversations with My Father. Later, he starred in the Broadway production of The Graduate, which also starred Kathleen Turner and Alicia Silverstone. He was also in the longrunning play The Heidi Chronicles.
Biggs starred in the music video for Wheatus’s hit song, Teenage Dirtbag, which came out in 2000. His American Pie co-star, Mena Suvari, is also in the video and it has over 158 million views on YouTube.
Getting Personal With Jason Biggs
Biggs met actress Jenny Mollen on the set of My Best Friend’s Girl and they started dating. They became engaged in January 2008 and tied the knot on April 23, 2008. They have a son named Sidd, who was born on February 15, 2014, and they have a son named Lazlo, who was born on October 2, 2017.
