Following the brutal murder of Lucas, Felicia found solace inside a liquor bottle. But soon the booze receptacles began to pile up and it became clear that she had a series drinking problem.
Her friends and family staged an intervention in the hope that Felicia would admit her alcohol dependency but the exercise was in vain. “Why should I stop doing something I enjoy?’ she asked, “I like to drink kids. I mean, get use to it!”
Felicia was only able to admit her problem after her drinking resulted in the death of Jenna’s unborn baby. She joined Alcoholics Anonymous and became good friends with her sponsor, Judy Burrell.
Misery
When Felicia retired from writing romance novels and instead plowed ahead with her personal story, Into the Fire, Cory Publishing mail clerk Walter Trask kidnapped her and stashed his obsession away in his attic with the intention to force her to continue writing in the genre she excelled at. Felicia was rescued by Cass, his bride Frankie and her editor, Marshall Kramer.
Hard to Resist
Although normally level headed, Felicia gave into temptation and slept with John Hudson, ignoring the fact that he was married to her good friend Sharlene. The affair decimated the Hudsons’ marriage and Felicia took in her lover. They made plans to marry, but he subsequently cheated on Felicia with his ex-wife!
The Future
Finally recovered from her jilting, Felicia found herself being pursued by Sergi Radzinski, a Soviet Union refugee who claimed to be dying from radiation poisoning and in need of a quickie wedding to keep from being deported. Felicia married him and even after she learned he had lied about the state of his health — and the fact that he was writing a book about her — she didn’t file for divorce.
