The movie version of Beauty and the Beast remains strong at the box office, but did you know a soap opera actor appeared in the Broadway version? Lots of your favorites certainly have the musical chops (and acting ones too) to pull it off but do you know which of the following did?
The Young and the Restless
Tristan Lake Leabu has certainly proven he is as musical as Reed. After all, Reed has gone to great lengths to prove he’s serious about his music and appearing at Open Mic Night at The Underground.
Now, he is willing to learn more about his craft with an instructor his grandmother found him. While he did play Lois Lane’s young son in Superman Returns, he has not appeared on Broadway in that successful show.
General Hospital
Lisa LoCicero’s character, Olivia Falconari, may be involved with a former musician on the show, but that’s about where it ends.
Sure, the actress has lived in New York City, back when she appeared on Loving/The City (ex-Jocelyn) and One Life to Live (ex-Sonia), which offered up the opportunity, but she has not appeared in the musical.
Days of Our Lives
Gabrielle Haugh may look like the walking embodiment of Belle, the heroine from Beauty and the Beast, but that doesn’t mean the actress currently playing Jade has actually played the part.
She certainly has her hands full at the moment since Jade seems determined to sabotage her life in order to hang onto former boyfriend Joey.
The Bold and the Beautiful
While Rick Forrester doesn’t seem to be very musical, the same cannot be said about the actor who plays him.
Jacob Young even sang on Broadway, making his debut playing Lumiére from May to August 2006 in Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” after he had moved to the east coast to play JR on All My Children. The actor has continued with his music, most recently appearing in Las Vegas.
