Last year was a rare year for the Daytime Emmys in which you couldn’t see the actual ceremony unless you found someone’s phone video posted to Twitter.
Sure, the red carpet arrivals and some press room moments after the show were streamed live on Perisciope, but to keep up with who won in real time, it was basically a social media race.
The bad news is, once again this Sunday’s Emmys will not be broadcast on TV. However, you CAN watch the ceremony, both live streamed on Facebook and on Periscope.
Give Us Our Emmys
And fans certainly want this to happen. Of a whopping 20,000 people who voted in our poll, a full 82% of you want to see this soap tradition one way or another.
You’ve adjusted to the digital social media age, and although you prefer a TV, you’re just happy that this year you can see the winners as they’re announced, as well as the heartfelt acceptance speeches.
There’s nothing like feeling the suspense in the room as each winner from soaps like The Young and the Restless (YR) or Days of Our Lives (DOOL) is announced and watching the look on everyone’s faces. Reports via Twitter do not have the same effect.
It’s Okay. Just Tweet It And We’re Fine
Then, there are 18% of you who are just fine following your Twitter or Facebook feed for live written updates rather than sitting through every moment of the ceremony. It’s how you get all your news these days and no live stream or broadcast is just fine with you.
