Sheryl Underwood, host of The Talk, and Mario Lopez, host of EXTRA, are coming back to emcee once again The Daytime Emmy Awards! The pair will act as hosts of the awards show set for Sunday, May 5.
Not only have they both hosted the Daytime Emmys before, but both have also appeared on The Bold and the Beautiful! Underwood played the part of Emmy (get it?) while Lopez had the short-term role of Dr. Christian Ramirez, whose patients included Felicia (Lesli Kay).
“The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) is happy to announce that two of daytime television’s brightest stars, Mario Lopez and Sheryl Underwood, will lead the magnificent celebration planned for this year’s 46th Daytime Emmy® Awards,” said Adam Sharp, President, NATAS.
“I am thrilled to have one of the most entertaining combinations in daytime television hosting our grand gala at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium,” said David Michaels, SVP, Daytime, NATAS.
On Friday, May 3, the Creative Arts celebration will be hosted by David Osmond (Jonah and the Great Fish). David is the son of Alan Osmond, one of the original members of the famous Osmond singing family.
Also, Carolyn Hennesy (Diane, General Hospital) will return as host of the Daytime Emmy Awards LIVE STREAM from the Red Carpet and Backstage Post Show interview with the winners on May 5.
