Are Your Ready For The Annual Summertime Soap Opera Teen Scene?

If it’s summer, it must mean one thing on a soap opera. Teens are home from school, so teens are on your screen. And, sometimes, it can be a bit too much.

Sure, there have been some amazing teen romances in the past that have gone on to legend status, but often teen scenes fizzle more than they sizzle in the steamy summer months.

Soap Hub asked if you’re looking forward to a summer full of young’uns and you seem to be split down the middle.

Bring It On!
Out of nearly 6,000 votes, 40% of you think focusing on the kids is a boring way to beat the heat.

However, that doesn’t mean the Young and the Restless (YR) isn’t introducing two new teens with the now-SORAS’d Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) and Mattie (Lexie Stevenson). They can join Victoria’s son Reed and cause never-ending Genoa City trouble.

Stay Away!
Another 28% of you can’t wait for more teens to come on the scene. Days of Our Lives (DOOL) has a college-age crowd with Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan), Theo (Kyler Pettis), Joey (James Lastovic), Jade (Gabrielle Haugh), and Tripp (Lucas Adams) , so you hope their story heats up.

However, you’ll never forget past high school crowds like Belle, Shawn, Chloe, and Brady.

Hmmm…Maybe
The final 33% are taking a wait and see attitude and reserving judgement. If you’re a General Hospital (GH) fan, that works out well since the show doesn’t have a teen scene to speak of at the moment.

Sure, there’s Josslyn (Eden McCoy), unless one of Liz’s boys is SORAS’d soon, there won’t be a young man in town for her. (Calling Cameron, who was born before Morgan and once had a crush on a child Joss.)
