Robin Givens, who’s been recurring this year on The Bold and the Beautiful as Dr. Phillips, has landed a new soap!
She’s starring in the nighttime serial Ambitions on OWN (the Oprah Winfrey Network).
Jamey Giddens, founder of the website Daytime Confidential is the creator/executive producer/writer of Ambitions and shared the news on social media.
Givens has been cast as series lead Stephanie Carlisle, the wife of ambitious Evan Lancaster (Brian White), who is the mayor of Atlanta.
Stephanie’s goal is to be in charge of the family law firm, but she has to contend with her father’s belief that she’s not ready.
Other stars to land a role on this new drama include Essence Atkins, Brian White, Kendrick Cross, Brely Evans, and Erica Page.
Ambitions is set to debut on OWN sometime in 2019.
No word on if this new gig will affect Givens’ airtime on B&B or with her recurring role on Riverdale.
The actress is no stranger to soaps. She appeared in a recurring role on Guiding Light in 1985 as a dancer in a music video in which Lujack (Vincent Irizarry) performed.
The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
