Soap Hub looks at the Hits and Misses for the week of January 13-17 in the worlds of Days of Our Lives, General Hospital, The Bold and the Beautiful,l and The Young and the Restless.

Top 10 Hits and Misses

10. MISS: Lulu blames Dante for losing Charlotte (GH). Lulu (Alexa Havins) gets back from Prague, and she tells everybody who will listen that Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) is to blame for her losing Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez). That whole Prague saga went wrong for so many reasons. Dante is probably last on that list. Meanwhile, Lulu’s the first.

9. MISS: Kerry falls hard for Leo’s fake pitch (DAYS). Kerry (Derek Yates) didn’t even wait five minutes to leak Leo’s (Greg Rikaart) “new spoilers.” Lady Whistleblower attempted to blame it on some hacked email, but come on. That deflect was weak sauce. Kerry should have known better.

8. HIT and MISS: Li and Poppy (B&B). The Nozawa sisters’ increased involvement means we’re not just getting the Forrester versus Logan story anymore. There’s also Luna (Lisa Yamada), Bill (Don Diamont), Will (Crew Morrow), and Electra (Laneya Grace), as well as Li (Naomi Matsuda) and Poppy (Romy Park).

We love it when these two are part of the action. Unfortunately, Li and Poppy are no longer getting along. Judgey Li is back, albeit they’re finally going to explain why she has such a hate on for her sister. But since they are not on all the time, this return to their earlier dynamic gave Poppy and us whiplash.

7. MISS: Billy’s plan to get Chancellor back begins and ends with Adam (Y&R). Seriously? Even Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) questioned his strategy. Billy (Jason Thompson) acted like he had come up with a brilliant scheme. Billy and Adam (Mark Grossman) are always gunning for each other. We would rather see Billy take Victor (Eric Braeden) head-on.

6. MISS: Drew has Tracy arrested (GH). Yes, Tracy (Jane Elliot) had no right to keep Amelia (Sequoia and Serenity Mork Macko) and Wiley (Viron Weaver) from their mother. She fought off everybody who dared enter the Quartermaine Mansion to take those kids away from Monica (the late Leslie Charleson) until Drew (Cameron Mathison) arrived with the PCPD in tow. He had the woman arrested, and the smug look on his face — he really looks at himself as Willow’s hero, doesn’t he?

5. HIT: Jordan and Claire (Y&R). Seeing Claire (Hayley Erin) “revert” to her old self was really cool. Her old self was dark, dangerous, and hated The Newmans. She played Jordan (Colleen Zenk), but a part of us wishes some of it were real. We liked Claire not being too pure to be pink. (Grease fans will know that reference)

4. HIT: Sarah keeps a secret from Xander (DAYS). We finally get to see a story where Xander (Paul Telfer) isn’t the one keeping the secret from Sarah (Linsey Godfrey). She made a choice and will have to live with the consequences once the secret is inevitably outed.

3. HIT: Steffy infiltrates Forrester Creations (B&B). While Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) sending Daphne “The Nose Knows” Rose (Murielle Hilaire) after Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) isn’t our favorite element of this story, things should get more interesting at Forrester now that Steffy has returned to work. She’s just a lowly president, not the co-CEO, but she’ll be a pot-stirrer of the highest order. Whether she gets the best of Hope (Annika Noelle), Carter, and Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) or learns a thing or two from them, her presence should rile things up.

2. HIT: Dr. Gannon goes with his gut and saves Michael (GH). This is what a hero looks like. Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) and Lucas (Van Hansis) knew that Digitalis had hit Michael’s (Chad Duell) system, and they had to act fast. Isaiah had a theory, and he went with it. He used medication that countered Digitalis, and Michael responded. Kudos, Dr. Gannon.

1. HIT: Claire tells Nikki and Victoria that “Jordan must die” (Y&R). Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victoria (Amelia Heinle) weren’t prepared for the Claire they saw after she talked to Jordan. She told her mom and grandmother about Jordan returning. She asked Nikki and Victoria not to tell anyone, not even Victor. Because she knew he would just take control. She wants to take care of Jordan. And when she says “take care,” she means kill Jordan. It took more than a minute to get Nikki and Victoria on board. An outwardly darker Claire is a more interesting Claire.

Honorable Mentions

MISS: An element of Luna’s house arrest (B&B). Apparently, nobody can know that Luna is serving out her prison sentence at Bill’s mansion. What is Bill going to do every time someone comes to his home? Panic? Rush them out after five minutes like he did with Will? How long is Luna’s house arrest? Will he be doing this for the next 20 years? She murdered two people!

HIT: Holly and Doug III (DAYS). We like their friendship so far. It’s refreshing to see her worry about something other than her relationship with Tate (Leo Howard), which undergoes one obstacle after another. This week, Holly (Ashley Puzemis) helped Doug (Peyton Meyer) pay off his debts, and while we’re still upset with him for stealing the necklace, we’re softening towards him. He’s finally starting to show he has some depth.

HIT: Mariah admits to still having nightmares about being raised by Ian (Y&R). Knowing that Mariah continues to feel the effects of her childhood trauma was hard to hear, but it was also realistic. Of course, she’s still having nightmares. Camryn Grimes is doing a great job with this phase of the supervillain story.

HIT: Jordan unloads on Drew (GH). We were so here for Jordan (Tanisha Harper) lining up to give Drew her two cents. We’ve seen the progression of her collaborating and even flirting with Drew to side-eyeing his public choices. Her rant wasn’t mean or vicious, but she did speak the truth. Hopefully, she gave Drew a few things to think about, but he may not be ready to understand yet.
