Soap Hub looks at the Hits and Misses for the week of December 23-27 in the worlds of Days of Our Lives, General Hospital, The Bold and the Beautiful, and The Young and the Restless.
Top 10 Hits and Misses
#10 HIT: Zende is a valuable component of this Logan versus Forrester war (B&B). Zende (Delon de Metz) is suddenly someone both sides are counting on. We love that for him. Honestly, his loyalty should be with the Forresters. Hopefully, in the future, they will treat him better than they have thus far. He’s been a bit of an afterthought. It’s also great that once Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) cry foul about Brooke’s (Katherine Kelly Lang) true intentions for taking the top spot at Forrester Creations 2.0, Zende can be proof positive that giving FC back to Ridge and Steffy was what Brooke wanted from the get-go.
#9 MISS: Arnold’s Back (DAYS). Rafe’s doppelganger has returned. And while it definitely gives Galen Gering something fun to play — especially after he spent extended time in a coma — what’s Arnold’s purpose? Also, why does everybody in Salem have a double/doppelganger? We would like to know.

#8 HIT: Diane’s Christmas gift to Kyle (Y&R). Diane (Susan Walters) is still perplexed as to why, more than anyone in Genoa City, she has to crawl over hot coals in order to get unconditional forgiveness from anyone, including her son. But here she is, giving Kyle (Michael Mealor) two gifts for Christmas. First, she gives him a Co-CEO nameplate. This should assure Kyle that Diane has no designs on his job whatsoever. She has finally left her old CEO office, which she apparently did not do fast enough for his liking. Second, she gives him pages from the journals she wrote during her Los Angeles Era, per her therapist. The pages she gifted to Kyle were from Christmas pasts. Talking about them made Diane quite vulnerable and brought up a lot of raw emotion, which made us emotional. Kudos to Susan Walters.
#7 HIT: Electra finally learns Remy’s a bad dude (B&B). Understandably, Will (Crew Morrow) and Ivy (Ashleigh Brewer) couldn’t stop wondering why Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Katie (Heather Tom) fired Electra (Laneya Grace). Thankfully, two things subsequently happened that moved the story forward. Deacon (Sean Kanan) oddly sent Electra to Remy’s (Christian Weissmann) apartment, where she discovered Remy’s obsessive side. Of course, he also caught her, which wasn’t ideal. However, Katie finally showed her son the photos. Being the young guy that he is, Will immediately figured out that those photos were doctored AI-style. Now, we’re excited to see what happens next.
#6 HIT: Ned and Jason talk (GH). We didn’t realize how happy we were to have Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), formerly Quartermaine, finally taking up residence in the Q mansion until he and Ned (Wally Kurth) had that talk in the kitchen. It was an unexpectedly nice conversation. Also, we’re happy that Jason’s no longer living in the shoebox of a room at Bobbie’s.
#5 MISS: Willow and Drew are all cozy at Nina’s (Cynthia Watros) Christmas party (GH). Is it just us, or have Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) and Drew (Cameron Mathison) already skipped ahead to the two of them against the world phase of their relationship? When did that happen? Where’s her angst over her marriage to Michael? Beats have been skipped, and, sure, it might have to do with Chad Duell’s impending exit, but some of those in-between beats needed to play out.

#4 HIT: Brady and Marlena’s Christmas moment (DAYS). We always love reminders that Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Marlena (Deidre Hall) have a strong connection. He was there for Marlena as she desperately missed John (the late Drake Hogestyn) this holiday season. On top of that, he called her his other mom and gave her a special locket for Christmas. In addition to the family photo, the locket belonged to his mom, Isabella (Staci Greason).
#3 MISS: Victor tries to engineer a reunion for Adam and Chelsea (Y&R). Victor (Eric Braeden) sat Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) down and told her he hoped she and Adam would reunite. According to Victor, she has changed, and they should live together at the Newman compound. Why is it important for Victor to see Adam (Mark Grossman) and Chelsea reunite? Meanwhile, Chelsea kept Adam at bay, saying it would never happen. They’re too toxic for each other, and too much has happened. The show has isolated these characters. Hopefully, in 2025, Adam and Chelsea will branch out and get involved in different stories.
#2 HIT Charlotte and Valentin return (GH). Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) have been mentioned a million times in the last few months, but especially the last month since Lulu (Alexa Havins) woke up from her coma. So, we knew the two would return, but it was good to see them. And we’re hoping the father and daughter continue to be a part of the action.
#1 MISS: Brooke doubles, triples, and quadruples down on Ridge Forrester (B&B). Brooke devised a plan after Hope (Annika Noelle) and Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) offered her the CEO job at the new Forrester Creations. She would take it, but only because she wanted to deliver the company back to the people who should be in charge: the Forresters. However, she had to make the social media announcement without talking to Ridge first. So, naturally, he felt betrayed. But when they were finally in the same room, he obliterated Brooke. He jumped to the wrong conclusion about her and then didn’t give her a chance to explain her actions. And then, of course, Taylor (Rebecca Budig) came down the steps in Ridge’s shirt. Even though they didn’t actually have sex, they did make out on his bed.

And so Brooke walked away. Instead of being angry, she vowed that she and Ridge would be together next year and that he was the only man for her. Ridge showed no faith in Brooke and immediately thought she would betray him for power, even though she went against her daughter when she told him about Hope and Carter’s coup in the first place. And she still wants him back. Make it make sense. We know it’s hard to walk away from “destiny,” but maybe Brooke should try it.
Honorable Mentions
MISS: Summer and Chance reunite (Y&R)? We’re unclear about what happened between the two. Chance (Conner Floyd) and Summer (Allison Lanier) finally got their issues out in the open, and they apologized to each other for how they dealt with this whole Daniel being framed business. So now they’re starting all over? They’re getting back together? While Summer and Chance were a pleasant couple, that was about it.

MISS: Donna makes a choice (B&B). It looked like Donna (Jennifer Gareis) spent the entire Christmas with the Forresters. However, we thought she would also sneak out and make an appearance with the Logans. It might be nice if we get some Donna perspective sooner rather than later. is she mad at Brooke and Hope because of how it has affected Eric (John McCook)? How does she feel about Hope, Brooke, and even Katie right now?
HIT: Rachel is Ava’s mysterious stalker (DAYS). It’s great that Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) wasn’t behind those angry texts. Instead, her daughter was. When she finds out, will she join Rachel (Finley Rose Slater) in her crusade to eliminate Ava (Tamara Braun) from Brady’s life? Or will she worry about how her behavior has affected her daughter? Probably the former, considering Kristen isn’t that self-aware.
HIT: Ric and Alexis decorate for Christmas together (GH). Alexis swallowed her pride and called Ric. She wanted them to spend their Christmas doing right by Molly (Kristen Vaganos). So we were treated to a fun montage of Ric and Alexis decorating her place for Christmas. Alexis’s fury was fun to watch, even though it seemed like she was protesting too much. Nancy Lee Grahn and Rick Hearts work well together.
