Hits and Misses Breakdown: September 28-October 2, 2026

Beyond the Gates***Standout Soap of the Week***

HIT and MISS: Hayley plays the trick up her sleeve. Monday’s episode featured Hayley (Marquita Goings) laying out for Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) exactly why she wouldn’t be seeing the inside of a prison. So she may have been caught red-handed, but she had plan B in her back pocket. The MISS in the equation is the fact that exposing Bill’s secret would also take the Duprees down. Haven’t they been through enough?
HIT: Bill’s assistant, Caroline. One of the things that BTG does well is give its supporting characters a chance to shine. And this week, Caroline (Ellie Wang) got the chance to face off with Hayley. And she told her that she had been playing her the entire time. The moment was sweetly satisfying.
Worth a Mention: Martin (Brandon Claybon) took Kat’s side. We repeat. Martin took Kat’s side! Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla) was taking Kat (Colby Nixon) to task for turning to Izaiah (Lami) to talk about her issues with Tomas (Alex Alegria). Kat said she needed someone outside the family circle to listen to her. Martin, who is normally opposed to anything Kat does or says, supported his sister.

Bold and the Beautiful

HIT: Will continues to stick up for Dylan. This week, Dylan (Sydney Bullock) faced pressure from Katie (Heather Tom) to bring Zende (Delon de Metz) over to Logan. Katie held up her potential acceptance as a reward for getting Zende to talk to Hope (Annika Noelle). What was refreshing was that Dylan didn’t keep it a secret from Will. And Will supported her to the point that he confronted his mom and stuck up for his girlfriend.
HIT and MISS: The tug-of-war for Zende. As happy as we are that Zende’s talents are being talked about and appreciated, what happened to the deal Katie had with Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) not to poach any other Forresters? Did that go out the window when Brooke and Donna (Jennifer Gareis) basically disowned her?
Worth a Mention: We do not blame Zende for not wanting to answer to R.J. (Brayan Nicoletti) and Electra (Laneya Grace). Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) should have given him his own line instead of using him as a utility player. Or better yet, the show could have had Zende pitch his own. He’s just as ambitious as anyone else at Forrester.

Days of our Lives

HIT: Xander and Philip pay back every cent of their loan. What a satisfying moment it was when Xander (Paul Telfer) and Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) showed up at EJ’s. The DiMera thought Titan was his. The brothers Kiriakis took such pleasure in telling him that he was wrong. It was a great moment that was earned. However…
MISS: EJ has no true ally. Thankfully, Sydney (Sydney Malakeh) has finally returned to Salem because aside from her, EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) has no one he can truly trust—Cat’s ISA. And now we know that he can’t even trust Rita (Maggie Carney) to be transparent with him. And Johnny (Carson Boatman) is ratting him out. The whole town being anti-EJ is fine, but there needs to be a little more balance.
Worth a Mention: The EJ and Xander showdown was the perfect example of two equally matched rivals who are also equally morally grey. A great rivalry that the show should continue to roll out whenever it can.

General Hospitals

HIT: Tracy Q. Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) is the voice of reason every soap town needs, especially this week. Her conversations with Lulu (Alexa Havins) and Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) were worth the price of admission. There was also her confrontation with Chase (Josh Swickard) and her understanding during her brief interaction with Dante (Dominic Zamprogna). She can be blunt and harsh. But she also has a heart, though we suspect she would deny it.
MISS: Nobody questions their own deductions. Why didn’t Curtis (Donnell Turner) learn his lesson? He rode the Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) was the other driver wave all the way to a prison sentence. And now he’s sure that Sonny (Maurice Benard) ordered the beating because a thug said he did. And people are taking him at his word. Even though he was just so spectacularly wrong, it’s understandable why they wouldn’t believe Sonny. But don’t always take things at face value.
Worth a Mention: The teens on GH are the best on daytime. We are going to miss Bluesy Burke and are excited that this goodbye was more of a see ya later than anything permanent. While the actors who portray the teens can handle anything, we love the teens best when it’s them against the world. Not when they are pitted against each other. Hopefully, this Rocco (Finn Carr)-Danny rift won’t last much longer.

Young and the Restless

HIT: Nikki finally accepts Adam as part of the Newman family. We had to hit rewind and repeat it before we believed it happened. Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) recognized the effort Adam (Mark Grossman) has put into supporting the family. He’s finally getting the Newman respect he deserves, and we hope this continues.
MISS: Marie overdoses. It’s great that Y&R is showing that rehab wasn’t an easy cure for Nick (Joshua Morrow). He’s going to have ups and downs. But having a character that we have known for two seconds trigger his savior complex is a lot to handle. It would have been better had we known Marie (Jade Harlow) longer before this overdose happened.
Worth a Mention: Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) wants to buy up all the properties that Cane (Billy Flynn) acquired when he had designs on taking over Genoa City. We don’t exactly know what she will do with this real estate. It was great when she owned the Grand Phoenix, so owning the GCAC is a cool idea. But something tells us she has other plans. She still wants to prove she can play with the big dogs, so there’s the very real chance she’s going to go after the other companies in town.
