  • Conrad starred on Neighbours as Kane Jones.
  • The actor recently starred in Destiny, which takes place in South Africa.
  • Conrad was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, before moving to New Zealand and then Australia.
  • Conrad produces and hosts Banter with BC and co-hosts The Intermittent Fasting Podcast.

Australian Soap

Conrad starred as Kane Jones for two seasons on the long-running Australian drama Neighbours, a fast-paced production often compared to American soaps for both its storytelling and demanding filming schedule. According to Conrad, the experience was unlike anything he’d trained for.

“As an actor, you think you’re prepared, but you come in expecting five takes,” he explained. “No, sir. You get one take, and it’s, ‘OK, we got it—moving on.’ You have to think on your feet really quickly.”

Another challenge was the constantly evolving script. “They rewrite on the day, and you’ve got to be ready to go,” Conrad shared. The pressure sharpened his instincts. “It really helped refine my craft and taught me to learn things fast. I did all my real training on that show, and it’s been invaluable.”

Stage Craft

In addition to television, Conrad has a deep love for theater. He recently starred in Destiny, written by Kirsty Marillier and directed by Zindzi Okenyo, playing the male lead role of Ezra Jones — an experience he describes as transformative both professionally and personally.

“It was one of the most life-changing experiences I’ve had as an actor and as a person,” Conrad said of the production, which was set in South Africa during apartheid. “It was such an oppressive and devastating time.”

Conrad was drawn to the complexity of the role, calling Ezra “a meaty, bold, unapologetic character with real vulnerability.” The performance pushed him emotionally as well. “I felt completely naked on stage,” he admitted. “There was nowhere to hide.”

His additional credits include Erotic Stories, FOX’s Power Rangers: Ninja Storm, the No. 1 box office hit The Sapphires, Tony Award–winning musical Violet, and In the Heights at the Sydney Opera House.

Host With The Most

Outside of acting, Conrad produces and hosts Banter with BC (currently in pre-production for Season 4), with past guests including Outlander’s David Berry and The Flash star Keiynan Lonsdale. He also co-hosts the U.S.-based The Intermittent Fasting Podcast and partners with global brands as his profile continues to grow internationally.
