Gossip Girl actress Michelle Trachtenberg has died. The actress who portrayed Lily Montgomery on All My Children was 39 years old.

New York Post reported that Trachtenberg was found dead at 8 a.m. Wednesday at One Columbus Place on Central Park South. She’d recently received a liver transplant, and she might have experienced complications. Authorities aren’t investigating her death as suspicious.
In addition to her work in daytime, Trachtenberg was known for her roles on as Dawn Summers on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Georgina Sparks on Gossip Girl. She was also Georgina Sparks on The Witch of the Upper East Side.
She was born in New York City on Oct. 11, 1985. She booked her first credited role at the young age of nine. She was Nona F. Mecklenberg on The Adventures of Pete and Pete. Before that, she appeared in a Wisk commercial at age 3.
Her silver screen debut saw her playing Harriet in 1996’s Harriet the Spy. She starred in television films, Killing Kennedy and Sister Cities. In 2014, she appeared in the science fiction film The Scribbler. She was also in EuroTrip, Mysterious Skin, and Ice Princess. One of Trachtenberg’s last big credits came in 2021 in the Meet, Marry, Murder true-crime docuseries.
Trachtenberg’s Daytime Emmy Award nomination came in 2004 for Outstanding Performer in a Children’s Series. She earned the nod for hosting the Discovery Kids series Truth or Scare.
In 1997, she won the Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a Feature Film: Leading Young Actress for her role in Harriet the Spy. She snagged another win in 1998 for Best Performance in a TV Comedy Series: Supporting Young Actress for her role in Meego. In 2000, she received two nominations for her work on Inspector Gadget. 2001 saw another Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a TV Drama Series: Supporting Young Actress due to her role on Buffy. In 2007, Tractenberg took home the Sarasota Film Festival award for Breakthrough Performer for Beautiful Ohio.
In the years before her death, fans worried about Trachtenberg after she posted images of herself looking more frail than she had. That may have been due to needing a liver transplant. She even addressed it in a post that featured a selfie. She wrote, “Fun fact. This is my face. Not malnutrition no problems. Why do you have you hate? Get a calendar.”
The actress’ last Instagram post came last week. It looks like she posted several times about a week ago. In her last share, she posted a throwback photo of herself. The caption read, “I wanted to look like naughty #tinkerbell 💚 #throwback ⚡️”
