All My Children fan favorite Debbi Morgan shared an update about the next course in her acting career. She revealed that she will stretch her acting skills in the new Tyler Perry thriller, which is set to premiere on Netflix.

Bringing High Stakes Drama to Netflix

Morgan’s most notable role was Angie Baxter Hubbard on the classic soap All My Children. She played the iconic character from January 1982 to July 1990. Morgan’s portrayal of Angela was groundbreaking for the soap genre. The role spoke to many of the female Black viewers who finally could see themselves in the stories.

Morgan has quite the soap career. After she left ABC’s soap, she snagged the role of Chantal Marshall on NBC’s short-lived soap Generations. She also took on the role of Dr. Ellen Burgess in Port Charles from 1997 to 1998.

Morgan shared an update with her fans on Instagram. She posted a clip of Tyler Perry’s thrilling new Netflix series titled Beauty in Black. The first eight episodes will drop on October 24. The series feels like another soap sudser.

“Tyler Perry’s first Netflix Series [sic] brings the heat with high stakes, corruption, and family drama,” Morgan teased in her Instagram caption.

Soap fans flocked to the comment section. Understandably, most of them are excited to see Morgan back on the small screen in some form. Others are hoping that she will still get to reprise her role of Angie in the near future.

One fan wrote, “Finally, getting a series where we can see the beautiful, talented, ageless Debbie Morgan every week.”

Another fan exclaimed: “I’m so glad to see Ms. Morgan back in action. [I’m] here for this show. TP does it again!”

Tyler Perry’s series Beauty in Black focuses on powerhouse women with unique lifestyles. Kimmie struggles financially after her mom kicks her out of the house. Meanwhile, Mallory is a successful businesswoman. The two women cross paths and change each other’s lives.

Morgan has quite the soap resume. She’s also appeared in Loving, The City, and The Young and the Restless. She never stopped working after her time on All My Children. What are your thoughts on her new role? Sound off below in the comment section.
