One thing about soap actors is that they’re quite the supportive bunch. Many of them have worked with each other on other soaps, as it’s such a close knit niche industry.
When both are nominated for Daytime Emmy Awards in the same category, they can feel the competition, but also admit their admiration and support.
That’s just what happened this week when James Reynolds (Abe, Days of Our Lives) took home the gold for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series and fellow nominee Michael Easton (Finn, General Hospital) took the time to reminisce–and give praise.
And, apparently, the feeling was completely mutual.
Easton posted a note for Reynolds on his Facebook page talking about how they worked together back in the 90s when Easton played Tanner Schofield on DAYS and wondered if Reynolds even remembered him.
When Reynolds saw the note, he responded via Twitter, admitting he still watches Easton’s work and thanked him for his kind words.
This was a kind, sweet, and professional moment between two very talented and humble men–shared with all of social media, of course. And, it’s just the kind of thing that makes soap fans say, “awww”–well, at least we here at Soap Hub do.
Congratulations to both actors on jobs well done.
