Michelle Stafford has a legion of fans from her time on both The Young and the Restless and General Hospital… and now she has even more reason to celebrate!
Stafford was born on September 14, 1965 in Chicago, Illinois, which means that she is turning 53 today! Her father was a lawyer and her mother was an executive at Universal Studios.
Her career started when a modeling opportunity took her to such far-away destinations as Japan, France, and Italy… and she even lived in Italy for a year. She moved back to the U.S. to pursue acting.
Her first soap was Tribes in 1990, then commercials and TV episodic guest appearances soon followed. She also got the chance to star in two plays directed by Academy Award®-nominated and Tony Award®-winning actor Charles Durning.
But of course, it was her role as the unpredictable Phyllis on The Young and the Restless, starting in 1994, that not only put her on the daytime map but won her two Daytime Emmys during her 15 years on the soap.
In 2014, she joined GH as Nina, a woman who spent 20 years in a coma, thanks to her crazy mother.
She did spend years away from Y&R and during that time appeared on such TV shows as Pacific Palisades, Players, Two Guys, A Girl and a Pizza Place, JAG, Diagnosis Murder, Judging Amy, Frasier, and VIP. Her film credits include Double Jeopardy and Attraction.
On the personal front, the beautiful actress has two children who were born with the help of surrogate mother – a daughter named Natalia Scout Lee Stafford and a son named Jameson Jones Lee Stafford who was born in 2015.
