While some soap opera deaths have turned out to be fake, there are others that were all-too real, leaving fans devastated. Whether it’s knowing that the actor quit and will never return, or a shocking firing that has caused them to leave, the end result is the same – fans are in mourning.

No one wants to see their faves meet a horrible end. Soap Hub remembers several from which we are still trying to recover. Let us know who you miss in the comments section.

The Young and the Restless
After the cabin that Chloe was holding Adam (Justin Hartley) in blew up, fans continued to hope that Victor’s youngest son would be found alive. Alas, knowing that the actor has a huge primetime hit series, a resurrection seems unlikely and viewers remain devastated at the loss.

Another blow was when actress Jeanne Cooper passed away, causing Genoa City to lose Kay Chancellor, whose presence is still felt in stories to this day.

General Hospital
The shocking death of nurse Sabrina (Teresa Castillo), who was just getting her life together and falling in love with Michael, broke viewers’ hearts and those throughout Port Charles. Seeing Morgan then get killed was unreal. Watching Anna mourn soul mate Duke – again – was also killer. But when the Quartermaines lost both Alan and Emily in a short span of time, it seemed like our hearts would never recover along with Monica’s.

Days of Our Lives
We watched Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope fall in love since the 1980s. Sure, both had other loves but none could come close to what they shared. So to finally have Bo return, only to die in Hope’s arms, seemed utterly cruel. But we didn’t know what cruel was until we had to endure the murder of Will, who we saw born on the show, from his own perspective. Now that was traumatizing!

The Bold and the Beautiful
Stephanie (Susan Flannery) had been on the show since Day 1, so to have to say goodbye to her didn’t seem fair, even if we knew the actress was ready to leave. But when the show killed Phoebe, Steffy’s twin sister, in a horrible car accident and then had her die in her father’s arms while singing him a song she had written for his wedding…well, it was just too much.
