Linsey Godfrey and Camryn Grimes are two soap stars with confidence, and they let the world know it on Twitter.

In very plain words, they stated their offense at Twitter’s insults about their skin tones, while also explaining why they make the health and beauty choices they do.

Apparently, some tweeters feel their pale skin is a problem and they expressed it freely by tagging the actors when commenting as such.

So, in a mature and matter-of-fact way, Grimes, who became a soap star as a child, explained her skin tone to those who may not understand why she makes the choices she does.

“Your friendly neighborhood ginger here,” she posted in an extended note on Twitter. “So, I’ve heard a lot of talk over the years about my skin and I thought it was time to comment myself.

“Fun fact: redheads are naturally pale. I understand that being pale on a show where the lights are fixed and sometimes unforgiving and I’m opposite actors much darker than me, I can look jarring or even sick. I am not. I am perfectly healthy and there’s no cause for concern.”

“Simply put, in the summer I get more color, in the winter I get much less. It’s natural, that’s how it goes. I don’t do spray tans, because, well, let’s be real, I’d look ridiculous. And I don’t do tanning beds because it’s not good for redheads to be in the sun.”

“Guys, being a redhead I have a high risk of skin cancer and I’m not going to put that at risk because some are uncomfortable with how white I am on screen. I like my porcelain skin, it’s natural, it’s me. Cheers!”

Camryn Grimes, who is Godfrey’s BFF, and also a cancer survivor, chimed in with her own tweet.

“I mean it’s crazy that you are having to explain this! Your skin is STUNNING! I am pale too, I purposely keep myself out of the sun because I don’t want skin cancer and the sun ages us so quickly!”

Both actresses remind us that when fans post their critical opinions about actors and tag them on Twitter, they can obviously see them.

So, Soap Hub says GOOD FOR THEM and we celebrate their openness, honesty, intelligence, confidence, talent, and beauty.
