The Young and the Restless has scored a casting coup by adding Emmy-winner Jordi Vilasuso to its roster. The actor was last seen as Dario on Days of Our Lives (DOOL).
According to Soap Opera Digest, Vilasuso will play Rey, a (what else?) mysterious newcomer who arrives on the scene on Friday, August 17th.
Even before landing this role, Vilasuso was a bona-fide soap-hopper: He debuted on Guiding Light, playing the role of Tony Santos from 2001-2003. He won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Leading Actor for that role in 2003.
Next, Vilasuso appeared on the short-lived nighttime soap Fashion House before moving to All My Children as Griffin. He was a Pine Valley fixture from 2010 to the show’s finale in 2011. He also appeared on the online version of AMC in 2013.
There’s no word yet on who Rey is, but perhaps he’s related to Arturo, as there have been rumors that the handyman might be getting a handy family… aside from the sister who left the bra in his apartment.
