It’s that warm and fuzzy time of the year, albeit not for these soap characters, who are having the worst Christmas ever. While their family and friends are happily celebrating, these lonely souls are just trying to endure the holidays.
Jason, General Hospital
For all those who thought Drew’s (Billy Miller) life would be the one demolished by the reveal that he’s not Jason Morgan, it’s the real Jason (Steve Burton) who’s been left with nothing. His wife, Sam (Kelly Monaco), announced she’s in love with his twin and plans to marry him.
His son, Jake (Hudson West), told him he already has a dad and wants nothing to do with him. Plus, Sam and Drew are living in his penthouse and bought Aurora Media with his money. So while Drew spent a cozy Christmas with the Quartermaines, Jason was literally left outside in the cold contemplating everything he’s lost.
JJ, Days of Our Lives
Is there anyone who was feeling lower or more despondent than JJ (Casey Moss)? Instead of joining the Hortons at their annual Christmas Eve tree trimming party, he sat alone in his apartment writing goodbye notes to his loved ones and planning to commit suicide.
His guilt over shooting Theo (Kyler Pettis) had left him a broken man, and Abe’s (James Reynolds) inability to forgive him had left him emotionally shattered. Fortunately, Gabi (Camila Banus) intervened and kept JJ from ending his life, even though he doesn’t really feel he has one worth living.
Abby, The Young and the Restless
After Abby’s (Melissa Ordway) romance with Zack tanked due to his involvement in the sex trafficking ring, he locked her and Scott (Daniel Hall) in a storage unit and took off. Being trapped together led the usually combative twosome to bond, which led to sex.
Afterwards, Abby and Scott insisted it was a mistake, but they haven’t been able to stop thinking about each other and even shared a post-captivity kiss. The problem is Scott has gone home and recommitted to Sharon (Sharon), leaving Abby alone and confused at the happiest time of the year.
Bill, The Bold and the Beautiful
Steffy’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) surprise pregnancy after her tryst with father-in-law Bill (Don Diamont) gave the senior Spencer hope that he might be able to have a future with his dream woman. After all, he believes a child should be raised by his biological dad.
However, Steffy’s told him in no uncertain terms that she’s staying with hubby Liam (Scott Clifton) no matter what and will raise the baby as his. It’s meant a lonely holiday for Bill, who’s lost two women, Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Steffy, in a two-month span.
