After being charged with a DUI over a year ago, veteran soap star Jensen Buchanan has found a resolution to her legal ordeal.
According to The Santa Maria Times, Buchanan plead guilty on Friday, August 18 to driving under the influence, which resulted in a collision that seriously injured the driver of another car.
She had originally plead not guilty last October but apparently changed her plea. The Times reports her blood alcohol level was 0.08.
The 55-year-old actress, who last appeared as Judge Moxley on The Young and the Restless, faces up to five years probation and one year in a county jail. However, the judge maintains the sentence is conditional until an Oct. 6 hearing where he will hear about the other driver’s medical situation.
The driver’s wife described the possible sentence as a “slap on the wrist” after watching her husband nearly die as a result of the accident.
“She drank, hit my husband and he almost died and I had to sit through that, watch him go through that, and all of our lives are changed forever,” Sandy Asolas said.
Buchanan, who also played Sarah Gordon on One Life to Live and Vicky and Marley Hudson on both Another World and As the World Turns, allegedly crossed a double yellow line while driving drunk on May 18, 2016.
