In honor of Dancing With the Stars’ 25th season, the first Mirror Ball Champion, Kelly Monaco (Sam, General Hospital), is returning to the ballroom. Next week, she’ll partake in a trio dance with pal Cheryl Burke and her celeb partner this year, Terrell Owens, a former NFL wide receiver.
Hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews announced on Monday’s Halloween-themed show that Monaco, Alfonso Ribeiro (season 19 champion), and Corbin Blue (ex-Jeffrey, One Life to Live), who was runner up in season 17, are all returning for next week’s episode.
“I’m nervous just standing here,” Monaco replied when asked by Bergeron if she was anxious about coming back to the show. “This ballroom is electric. And coming back is a feeling like no other.”
Andrews thinks Monaco will have no problem keeping pace when she takes to the dance floor once more. “This just in, [Kelly] looks like she hasn’t missed a beat,” said Andrews, joking to the GH star, “You really look like you’ve let yourself go!”
This isn’t the first time Monaco has returned to DWTS since winning the Mirror Ball Trophy in season one. S
he took part in the All-Stars edition in season 15, paired with Valentin Chmerkovskiy. Below is a compilation clip of Kelly and Val’s work together from that season.
Also, Monaco shared on Twitter her excitement over returning to the ballroom.
So excited to share the Dance floor with my bestie @CherylBurke and the legendary @terrellowens next week on DWTS. #gh #dwts ????????????????
