Lori Loughlin
Actress Lori Loughlin has been associated with the Hallmark Channel for years. She’s starred in the continuing drama When Calls the Heart and also appeared in several Garage Sale Mystery movies for Hallmark.
But now, there’s been a big change in her status with the family-friendly network.
According to Variety, Hallmark has discontinued working with Loughlin in light of the news that she’s been charged with mail fraud related to the investigation and scandal known as Varsity Blues.
Loughlin, actress Felicity Huffman (Desperate Housewives), and others have been charged with crimes committed in order to get their kids into America’s top universities, in this case The University of Southern California (USC).
“We are saddened by the recent news surrounding the college admissions allegations. We are no longer working with Lori Loughlin and have stopped development of all productions that air on the Crown Media Family Network channels involving Lori Loughlin including Garage Sale Mysteries, an independent third party production,” the Hallmark parent company said in a statement.
No word yet on how Hallmark will handle Loughlin’s character, Abigail Stanton, on the network’s series, When Calls the Heart.
While talk show hosts have been referring to Loughlin as “Aunt Becky,” her character from the series Full House and its revival, Fuller House, long time daytime fans know her as heroine Jody Travis on Edge of Night.
Loughlin’s Jody saw increased air time in the early 1980s during a time that many serials positioned its young ingenues on the front burner.
