TV and movie star Busy Phillips has some harsh accusations of former co-star James Franco (ex-Franco, General Hospital).
Phillips, who has a new memoir debuting called This Will Only Hurt A Little, claims that during their time on the cult classic series Freaks and Geeks that Franco assaulted her on set, according to USA Today, Vulture, and various other sources.
The actress describes Franco as a “bully” who couldn’t handle when the director asked her to playfully and “gently hit” Franco on the chest while they were filming a scene.
She claims Franco broke character at that point and let his fury show by screaming at her and physically attacking her.
“[He] grabbed both my arms and screamed in my face, ‘DON’T EVER TOUCH ME AGAIN!'” she wrote in the book. “And he threw me to the ground. Flat on my back. Wind knocked out of me.”
Phillips says the actor apologized the next day, but she feels the producers forced him to do it.
This isn’t the first time Franco has been accused of inappropriate behavior with women. Earlier in 2018, five women came forward to accuse the actor of sexual misconduct, according to a Los Angeles police report.
Franco denied the claims at the time and still denies them. However, he did admit to sending inappropriate Instagram messages to a teenage girl when he was in his 30s.
The actor, who has been described as an eccentric by various people in the industry, surprised many when he decided to take a role on General Hospital in 2009 after expressing his desire to do a soap.
As GH fans know, he created the character of Franco Baldwin, otherwise known as Robert Frank, a crazed serial-killing artist obsessed with Jason Morgan. Franco played the role off and on until 2012.
Roger Howarth took over the part of Franco in 2013 when we learned the character committed his many crimes due to a brain tumor.
