Lately, many soap opera departures have been tough to take. Fans hated to hear about Hayden (Rebecca Budig) leaving General Hospital (GH) and they desperately want Nicole (Arianne Zucker) to stay on Days of Our Lives (DOOL). Plus, losing Kevin (Greg Rikaart) caused lots of heartaches for fans of The Young and the Restless (YR).
While it’s never a happy day when an actor or actress leaves, the same can’t always be said for their characters. In fact, sometimes a character’s demise leaves most fans with nothing but joy.
Soap Hub asked which recent departure you’re happiest about, and here are the results!
Villainous Drug Dealer in Salem
He went out in dramatic fashion — a knife right through his heart! Now Salem is left with a giant murder mystery to find out who killed the not so dearly departed Deimos (Vincent Irizarry).
The 67% fans who are happiest with Deimos’s departure speak to the amazing acting ability of Irizarry. He portrays characters fans love to hate, and he is arguably one of the best in daytime.
While Irizarry may be missed, it seems lots of fans and Salemites are thrilled to see him gone.

Crazy Chloe
Coming in at a distant second with 17% of the vote, fans will be pleased to see Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) finally leave the canvas of YR. Will she be gone for good?
Perhaps she, Bella, and Kevin could end up with a happily ever after. So far, that looks unlikely, though with Victor (Eric Braeden) closing in.
Logan Sister
For 11% of you, Jennifer Gareis (Donna) departing The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) made you happiest. Sometimes you get tired of the three Logan sisters passing around husbands and boyfriends.
Jerome Brother
Finally, a tiny 5% of you were pleased to hear the surprise casting news that William DeVry (Julian) is leaving Port Charles. Perhaps you don’t appreciate his on again, off again relationship with Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and you think he’s not good for her recovery.
