Fans Pick Who They’d Be On Soaps and It May Shock You!

Admit it — sometimes, while watching your favorite soaps, you fantasize about the role you’d play if you lived in Genoa City, Port Charles, Salem, or Los Angeles.

You see yourselves wearing fabulous clothes, sipping exotic wines, and embarking on whirlwind romances. But who would you be, exactly?

You Gotta Have Friends!
Soap opera villains eventually get stabbed in the back — either figuratively or literally — right, DAYS’ Deimos (Vincent Irizarry)? But a friend is everyone’s confidante, and so gets a front row seat to all the best gossip — right, Y&R’s Ravi (Abhi Sinha)?

That’s why 64% of you see yourselves as a friend to all. You’ll listen, you’ll sympathize, you’ll give helpful advice. You’ll watch no one listen to you….

It’s Good To Be Bad
On the other hand, bad guys get all the good lines, plus it’s not love that means never having to say you’re sorry, it’s villainy, and 19% of fans prefer to be the ones stirring up trouble, like B&B’s Sheila (Kimberlin Brown), rather than suffering from it.

We Need a Hero
Heroes get to bring villains down, even if it costs them everything — and everyone — they love. A brave 15% of the audience are willing to take that risk, as long as they get to put on the cape, and then reap all the town’s gratitude, afterwards.

What Else You Got?
And then there are the 2% of viewers who won’t be put into boxes. They prefer to define their own places. Some would like to be doctors, like GH’s Griffin (Matt Cohen), some are happy with “son,” though one was very specific, requesting the chance to be “Dina’s son.”

Meanwhile, “somewhere in the mix” also got a vote, proving that you love your soaps so much, you’ll take any role if it means the chance to rub shoulders with young and restless, bold and beautiful people, all the days of our lives — without landing in General Hospital!
