Love in the afternoon is still alive and well on all the soaps… but which one does romance best?
That’s a question that Soap Hub was hoping fans answer, and boy, did you: Over 14,000 cast their vote. Find out how your favorite soap stacked up against the competition.
Days of Our Lives
Garning over half the votes, with 52%, were those fine folks of Salem on DAYS. How could anyone resist the romance of couples like Chad (Billy Flynn) and Abigail (Marci Miller), who had to overcome her dissociative identity disorder to find each other again?
In addition to them, there’s Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) helping Eric (Greg Vaughan) heal and find love again, the tenderness of Paul (Christopher Sean) and Will (Chandler Massey), and of course the everlasting love of John (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena (Deidre Hall) as well as Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans).
General Hospital
A strong 23% felt GH should have been tops with hot couples like Curtis (Donnell Turner) and Jordan (Vinessa Antoine), the tragic love of Maxie (Kirsten Storms) and Nathan (Ryan Paevey), and the tentative new romance of Anna (Finola Hughes) and Finn (Michael Easton).
The Bold and the Beautiful
A stalwart 13% believe in the sweeping romance of B&B for couples like Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) and those two crazy kids who brought fun back, Wyatt (Darin Brooks) and Katie (Heather Tom). How could anyone top them?
The Young and the Restless
Shockingly, only 12% chose Y&R as tops in romance. Genoa City has one of the most enduring couples (okay, so they break up a lot but still) in Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), but recently, two other longtime couples have come to the forefront.
Sharon (Sharon Case) and Nick (Joshua Morrow), along with Devon (Bryton) and Hilary (Mishael Morgan) turned up heat with Billy (Jason Thompson) and Phyllis (Gina Tognoni), showing how love doesn’t have to get stale just because you’ve moved in together.
