Soap opera fans got their first glimpse of Kassie DePaiva when she played Chelsea Reardon on Guiding Light.
Back then, she was still going by the name Kassie Wesley, fresh off her role as Bobby Jo in the horror movie classic, Evil Dead 2.
Kassie was a hit as Chelsea, both in her relationships with Phillip (Grant Aleksander) and Johnny (James Goodwin), though neither worked out long-term.
But it wasn’t until Kassie assumed the part of (formerly Asian) Blair on One Life to Live that she hit soap super-stardom — and met her husband, co-star James DePaiva (ex-Max).
Finally, she became the recast Eve on Days Of Our Lives in 2014, staying in Salem until 2016. Recently, Kassie triumphantly announced herself cancer-free, after a battle with leukemia.
Which, naturally, prompted fans to demand to know when she’d be back on our screens. Are you looking forward to Kassie’s return? Here’s what over 8,000 fans had to say.
Classy Kassie
She’s got choices! Even though 96% of you very enthusiastically screamed “Yes!” to a potential comeback, you didn’t specify which show you’d like to see Kassie back on.
Sure, she could sweep back into Salem and find new sparring partners, now that her sister Theresa (Jen Lilley) and ex-husband Eduardo (A Martinez) are gone.
There’s always JJ (Casey Moss). She did sleep with him — while he was dating her daughter, Paige (True O’Brien).
Or Kassie could return to General Hospital as Blair. She’s already passed through Port Charles, only to be forced to exit in a hurry due to a lawsuit between ABC and Prospect Park, the company that briefly brought All My Children and OLTL to the web.
Well, the lawsuit is over. The coast is clear for Blair to pop back in. She’ll find so many familiar face, too! Right, Franco (Roger Howarth)?
Been There, Done That
And then there are the contrary 4%. You figure, Kassie’s been on three shows already, you’ve seen enough of her. Let someone new have a shot at soap stardom!
