Famous Breakups
Fans of Brad Pitt and Angelina are reeling today over the news of their split, and soap opera fans can relate.
There have been plenty of couples over the years that have sizzled and fizzled off screen, breaking our hearts. Soap Hub remembers some of these beloved soap opera actor couples of the past.
General Hospital
In recent years, fans adored Chad Duell (Michael) and Kristen Alderson (ex-Kiki) and were devastated when the two broke up. There was also the super adorable onscreen and off coupling of Kirsten Storms (Maxie) and Brandon Barash (ex-Johnny), who married and had daughter Harper Rose, but sadly it didn’t last. Storms’s character’s parents, Jack Wagner (ex-Frisco) and Kristina Wagner (Felicia), also met on the show, married, had two boys, and later divorced. Tyler Christopher (ex-Nikolas) was once engaged to fellow GHer, Vanessa Marcil (ex-Brenda) but later married and divorced her lookalike (literally – she was a body double for Brenda when Marcil wasn’t available) Eva Longoria.
Days of Our Lives
Arianne Zucker (Nicole) and Kyle Lowder (ex-Philip) made a gorgeous couple and were married for 12 years. The two have a daughter Isabella Reese. The current actor portraying Philip — John-Paul Lavoisier – also loved a fellow soap star. He and Farah Fath (ex-Mimi) were heavily involved when the two appeared on the now-defunct soap opera, One Life to Live.
The Young and the Restless
Amelia Heinle (Victoria) fell in love with co-star Thad Luckinbill (ex-J.T.) and the pair have two kids and have been married almost 10 years. But before that, she met and fell in love with her first husband, Michael Weatherly (Bull), when the two co-starred on the soap opera Loving as Steffi and Cooper. They divorced after two years and had a son, August Manning, together. Eileen Davidson (Ashley) married and divorced fellow soap opera actors Jon Lindstrom (Kevin, GH) and Chip Mayer (ex-T.J., Santa Barbara). Justin Hartley (ex-Adam) met Lindsay Korman on the set of Passions, where the two fell in love and married. They were wed for eight years and have a daughter together, Isabella Justice.
The Bold and the Beautiful
Y&R star Robert Adamson (ex-Noah) and B&B’s Linsey Godfrey (Caroline) got together and had a daughter, Aleda Seren, before breaking up. Her former onscreen husband (well not really, but he did play Ridge!) Ronn Moss was married to Y&R’s Shari Shattuck (ex-Ashley). The two split after having two daughters and being married 12 years.

Other famous pairings that either split or ended in divorce include GH’s Nancy Grahn (Alexis) and Sam Behrens (ex-Jake); Mark Pinter (ex-Brian, As the World Turns) and Colleen Zenk Pinter (ex-Barbara, ATWT), Robin Wright (ex-Kelly) and Dane Witherspoon (ex-Joe) who met and fell in love on Santa Barbara; Brynn Thayer (ex-Jenny) and Gerald Anthony (ex-Marco) from OLTL; Kim Delaney (ex-Jenny, All My Children) and Charles Grant (was Flohe, who was Preacher on Edge of Night at the time); Beth Ehlers and Mark Derwin, who starred as Harley and Mallet on Guiding Light.
