Eric Braeden (And Fans) FURIOUS Over OUTRAGEOUS Tweet

It’s been said for decades that some of the best acting in the industry comes from soaps, so when a primetime performer tweeted some choice words about soaps, fans and Eric Braeden weren’t having it.

“I love and hate being forced to watch soap operas in the waiting room at doctor’s,” tweeted actor Daniel Newman. “God the whispering fake acting…fake pauses…fake over acting expressions. Painfully funny and just painful.”

Well, that was enough to unite Soap Twitter, an often contentious “place” on the social media site where fan factions argue and debate. And after Soap Twitter took issue with Newman’s tweet, he deleted it several hours later.

But by then, it was too late. Too many people had seen the original (including this writer), re-tweeted it, and took screenshots just in case. Since Newman did delete it, the “just in case” action was apparently a good move.

According to IMDB, Daniel Newman is an actor, model, and musician with a recurring role as Daniel on The Walking Dead. He’s also appeared Homeland, The Vampire Diaries, and Heroes.

Fans were also surprised that Newman chose to illustrate his point by using a gif image of acclaimed soap performer Rick Hearst, the only actor to appear on all four soaps still currently on the air, and a Daytime Emmy winner for his role as Alan-Michael on Guiding Light back in the 90s.

One fan with the Twitter handle “Niktor Newman” tweeted a screenshot of the real-life Newman’s words, tagging such actors as Eric Braeden.

Well, Braeden was on a very long flight back to the States after an extended vacation and was tweeting away through much of it. When he spotted this disrespect for soap actors from Daniel Newman, he didn’t hold back and said his piece in a very Victor Newman way.

“Before you open your arrogant, condescending mouth, why don’t you try it, boy?” Braeden responded.
