Eric Braeden usually doesn’t get involved in the day-to-day politics at The Young and the Restless, but now he’s speaking out on some casting changes that have rocked the show.
The Emmy winner, who has played Victor Newman on the top-rated soap for decades, broke his silence Friday morning with a series of tweets about the cast shakeups over the last year.
He voiced his displeasure on the exits of Doug Davidson (Paul), Christian LeBlanc (Michael), Greg Rikaart (ex-Kevin), and Eileen Davidson (Ashley).
Braeden acknowledges that Eileen is leaving of her own choice. Currently the actor is visiting his native Germany, but clearly, he’s staying on top of things through social media.
He also called Doug Davidson’s firing an “egregious mistake” in a separate tweet.
Will him going public with his displeasure change things? Stay tuned to find out!
I normally don’t express my opinions reg the casting on Y&R! That’s the privilege of those who produce the show! However, this is a time when I have to make an exception! I’m still on vacation, hence my comment comes a little late: to let DOUGIE DAVIDSON GO is an egregiousmistaje

My plea to management: we have lost some all time fan favorites! D DAVIDSON has been with the show for, i think, 39 years, and people have loved him! Same for CHRISTIAN Le BLANC, GREG RIKART, Eileen DAVIDSON ( who left on her own volition)!
