Eileen Davidson Answers Return to DAYS Question

As Ashley, she may be trying to mend her broken family on The Young and the Restless, but Eileen Davidson has lots of irons in the fire.

The actress also currently appears on the reality show, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. But she’s also beloved for another role – or make that many of them – on Days of Our Lives.

Davidson recently spoke with TVInsider.com about whether or not she would consider returning to the soap.

“I’m open to anything. I have extreme amounts of love for Salem and for my character, Kristen, and feel very loyal to that show. But Y&R is my job right now, and I wouldn’t ever want to do anything that pissed anyone off,” she shared.

And who could blame her? Right now Ashley and her entire Abbott family are enjoying a bit of a rebirth, now that Sally Sussman has retaken the head writing reins of the show.

There was a long stretch where it didn’t seem like the Y&R writers had a lot of love for the family, jettisoning off Traci (Beth Maitland) after killing her daughter, killing off John (Jerry Douglas), and Davidson herself being off the show for many years while she was on Days of Our Lives.

The one thing Ashley is missing though is a love interest. She hasn’t seemed to spark with anyone, even though many fans loved her with Michael E. Knight’s Dr. Neville.

They never really took off but there was someone over at DAYS that the actress had chemistry with in spades.

“Hey, I had a very good thing going with Eric [Martsolf, Brady] and I never saw that one coming. I could never have predicted it. I didn’t know him, never auditioned with him, but we had fantastic chemistry, so who the hell knows?”

There have been times over the last few months where it seemed Kristen could make a comeback in Salem. There was a mystery woman who had arranged the kidnapping of Brady’s son Tate. Many fans thought it may have been Kristen but in the end it turned out to be Kate (Lauren Koslow).

Right now, the actress is happily ensconced in Genoa City. But never say never.
