Eddie Alderson, who grew up before our eyes as Matthew on One Life to Live, recently gave us a very telling update on his health. As fans of the actor know, he was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in 2016.
Good news! Alderson looks smiling and healthy in a photo at the beach with a full head of hair after undergoing grueling chemo that forced him to shave his head last year. The actor captioned his pic with the upbeat motto: #NoSurrender.
The picture runs side by side with one of him from a year ago when the chemo was taking its full effects. Alderson’s smile and upbeat outlook is the same in both shots!
Alderson’s former OLTL co-star Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair; now, Eve, Days of Our Lives) tweeted to the actor “Love you my warrior!”
Last December, DePaiva, a cancer survivor, posted her own health update with fans, letting them know she was cancer-free.

Alderson’s fans first became aware of his battle with Hodgkins Lymphoma when his sister, Kristen Alderson (ex-Star, OLTL; ex-Kiki, General Hospital) shared news of her brother’s condition on social media in November 2016.
A year ago, reports surfaced that Alderson was receiving additional chemotherapy treatments.
