February sweeps haven’t started yet, but good luck telling that to the showrunners at General Hospital, Days Of Our Lives, The Young and the Restless, and The Bold and the Beautiful. All four soaps are telling must-see stories that simply can’t be missed!
On GH, writers threw fan favorite Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) into yet another face-off with unbalanced Faison (Anders Hove). There’s a creepy Silence of the Lambs-esque feel to Anna/Faison scenes. This time, the stakes were incredibly high as Faison held a gun to the head of a handcuffed Dr. Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton).
Anna seldom feels powerless, but Faison knows how to push her buttons. She slugged Finn into unconsciousness to try to convince Faison he means nothing to her. The ex-spy and her stalker aren’t alone in this story. It’s an umbrella tale that’s involved not only Finn, but several other Port Charles characters too.
DAYS kicked off the week by picking up last Friday’s tag where Abby (Marci Miller) discovered the lifeless body of Andre (Thaao Penghlis). We’re hoping that this just means that Tony is somehow going to be resurrected despite him supposedly being the ashes in Anna’s (Leann Hunley) urn.
Andre had it coming; he was revealed to the Salem Slasher many years ago. We get that he cheated death when he supposedly perished in quicksand years ago, but he shouldn’t be able to get away with murder!
Y&R finally had Noah (Robert Adamson) learn about Mariah (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa’s relationship. Granted, it’s been mostly a one-sided dynamic on Mariah’s part, but as Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) was dating her brother Noah really needed to know his sister had feelings for her!
Noah blasted both Mariah and his mother Sharon (Sharon Case) for keeping it a secret, noting that Sharon didn’t like being in the dark about Scott (Daniel Hall), her two-timing boyfriend.
Sharon, however, was the voice of reason in all this, noting that there’s a big difference between a kiss and an affair. And she pointed out that Tessa had an obligation to be up front with Noah, too. Kudos to Adamson, by the way, on shining as Noah’s sense of betrayal grew over time. Give this guy more dramatic material!
The fallout from Bill (Don Diamont) and Steffy’s affair continued on B&B. The beauty of this story is that it’s not just about Liam (Scott Clifton), Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), and Bill and Liam’s (we think) baby.
Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang), and Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) both blasted Bill. Ridge did a preemptive block with a concerned Hope (Annika Noelle), recalling that she and his daughter are longtime rivals.
Wyatt (Darin Brooks) was there for his brother. And Sally (Courtney Hope) drew a line in the sand with Hope, setting up another potentially long running rivalry!
