The soap opera world mourns a sad loss this week when a longtime soap vet passed. His long career on tv included appearing on Days of Our Lives and Dallas.
The talented actor Daniel Pilon passed away this week at 77 years old. Pilon is perhaps best known to soap fans for his run as Dallas’ Naldo Marchetta, the birth father of Jenna Wade’s (Priscilla Presley) daughter Charlie (Shalane McCall). Naldo terrorized Jenna, who was framed for his death; the real killer turned out to be a hitman played by soap vet Rod Arrants (ex-Travis, Search for Tomorrow).
The Toronto Star reported that Pilon, born in Montreal Canada, passed away on Tuesday, June 26, surrounded by family, after a long battle with cancer.
Guiding Light fans recall Pilon as the actor who stepped into the role of Alan Spaulding in 1988, replacing fan favorite Chris Bernau in the part. Pilon played the role for about a year and then Alan went off to jail.
On Ryan’s Hope , throughout the 1980s, Pilon played Maxim “Max” Dubujack, a crime lord who shared an unlikely romance with law officer Siobhan Ryan (Marg Helgenberger).
Next, DAYS fans recall Pilon in the early ’90s as Professor Gavin Newirth, the man who raped the mother of Tanner Scofield (Michael Easton).
Soap Hub joins Pilon’s fans in sending their deepest sympathies to the actor’s family and friends.
