Cliffhanger moments, emotional cancer battles, revelations, love stories, and the exit of a character all provided plenty of Hit and Miss opportunities for the week of March 23-27, 2026. Soap Hub dissects the drama, action, and romance across Days of Our Lives, General HospitalThe Bold and the BeautifulThe Young and the Restless, and Beyond the Gates.

Key Takeaways

  • Rocco and Jason’s cover-up on General Hospital delivered emotional fallout and standout teen performances.
  • Beyond the Gates struck a powerful chord with Anita’s DNR decision and family-driven emotional beats.
  • Casting shakeups and rushed romances across soaps landed as misses.

Top 5 Hits

5. Fun Friday cliffhanger (B&B). The way Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) ended up at Steffy’s was oddly engineered. On top of that, Sheila has no boundaries. Why would she walk in instead of leaving the flowers at the door or returning another time? And doesn’t Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Finn’s place have any security? Also, Taylor’s moans didn’t sound like she was in trouble.

Having said all that, the images of Sheila slinking around with a huge knife in her hand were hilarious. We saw the shadow of the knives on the walls and artwork, and it all gave us Psycho vibes, which seems like a foreshadowing of what’s about to come. It was a fun way to end the week.

4. Diane, Nikki, and Patty at the GCAC (Y&R). Too bad the scene featuring all three women didn’t last longer. Having Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), Diane (Susan Walters), and Patty (Stacy Haiduk) stand in the middle of the athletic club, trading insults, was fabulous to watch and left us wanting more.

At the very least, please let Diane and Nikki share more face time now that they are both living in the same place. If they wanted to bond and get revenge on their husbands, we wouldn’t be mad at that, despite the fact that they hate each other with every fiber of their beings. If not revenge, maybe they could at least band together to clean up their husband’s messes.

3. EJ comes through for Johnny and Chanel (DAYS). Yes, EJ is despicable and devious. But thanks to Dan Feuerriegel, we will never be able to write him off the way Johnny (Carson Boatman) and Chanel (Raven Bowens) seem to so often. But now they won’t be able to totally turn their backs on him after he helped them with their adoption.

EJ didn’t take it easy on Sophia (Rachel Boyd), and we loved that. After all, she never takes it easy on anyone. And while the judge empathized with Sophia, she had no grounds to prevent Johnny and Chanel from adopting Trey. EJ used his ruthlessness for good. Maybe Johnny and Chanel will invite him to the adoption celebration now.

2. Anita Dupree wants to sign a do-not-resuscitate order (BTG). Anita’s cancer battle is a heavy topic that’s sometimes difficult to watch and is often triggering. But it’s also well-written, educational, and emotional. Wednesday’s episode was particularly riveting. We wanted to be mad at Anita for almost giving up and signing that DNR order. Anita was in so much pain.

It was a shocking sight, but it was also relatable and understandable. And Tamara Tunie, along with Clifton Davis, Daphnée Duplaix, and Karla Mosley, swept us up for the emotional rollercoaster. Because of them, we weren’t sure what Anita would decide. In the end, she ripped up that document, and we rejoiced right along with Anita’s family.

1. The Rocco/Jason cover-up (GH). The ABC soap kept us guessing as to how Jason (Steve Burton) would exit Port Charles. What the powers that be did was give us an unexpected moment when Rocco shot Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) to protect Jason and Britt (Kelly Thiebaud). Jason took the blame and was led out of town in shackles. And now we’re left with all these storyline possibilities.

Additionally, the performances were top-notch. While the adults were great, it was the teens, specifically Rocco and Danny, that really impressed us. We saw every ounce of pain, guilt, and fear on Rocco’s face as we dealt with the fallout of what he did.

And Danny, seeing the WSB take his dad away from him, was heartbreaking on a whole new level. Finn Carr and Asher Antonyzyn should be proud of their performances.

Top 5 Misses

5. Discovering Chief of Staff Whitmore is in the plasma ring (BTG). We knew Dr. Lia Whitmore (Cecelia Specht) was shady and was probably involved with the plasma ring. But finding it out casually in a conversation with Grayson (Jordi Vilasuso) was kind of anticlimactic.

4. Ari gets her own love story right when the actress leaves (DAYS). Marissa Reyes was an excellent addition to DAYS. Her character is finally getting a love story of her own, and unfortunately, this effervescent actress has left the show. Now we’ll have to take a step back and get introduced to a whole new Ari. Reyes and Hank Northrop (Liam) had a cute chemistry.

3. Lily stupidly trusted Victor again (Y&R). Why does anybody in GC keep playing Victor’s games? They will get burnt. As for now, Lily (Christel Khalil) has returned and will face hell for her choices. She thought she would at least get Chancellor. And she’s still empty-handed. Fool her twice. Please let her learn before she gets fooled a third time.

2. Joss decides she’s the one who should determine what happens to Cullum (GH). While the Joss (Eden McCoy) and Britt scenes provided a nice, full-circle moment for the characters, how did Joss decide she should be the one to decide what happens to Cullum? That takes nerve that she shouldn’t have yet. The concept of being a rookie WSB agent is lost on Josslyn Jacks. So is the concept of being benched.

1. Electra & RJ (B&B). It would be nice if Electra (Laneye Grace) and RJ (Brayan Nicoletti) would take the time to become friends before seeing if there’s anything there. But RJ constantly hyping her up, coupled with Ivy (Ashleigh Brewer) manipulating them together, is just too much. Things need to slow down.

    Honorable Mentions

    B&B

MISS: Dylan confesses she loves Will. Unlike Electra and RJ, Dylan (Sydney Bullock) and Will (Crew Morrow) have had the chance to get to know each other. They have had really great talks where they have opened up about their thoughts, emotions, and perspectives. It was actually nice, until Dylan just confessed that she’s in love with Will. Sometimes love happens too quickly on B&B.

    BTG

HIT: Meeting Darlene Hawthorne. We finally met Darlene Hawthorne, Elon’s wife and mother to Jacob, Izaiah (and Luke). It was nice to finally put a face to the woman we have heard about over the past year. And it was a nice touch that she was wary of Eva’s presence in her son’s life.

    DAYS

HIT: Deidre Hall and Ryan Gosling. We love it when soaps get the respect they deserve. And ever since All My Children alum Michael B. Jordan won his Oscar, it seems like everybody’s talking about soap operas. A clip featured Ryan Gosling giving mad respect to the soaps he used to watch in the ’90s, when Marlena was possessed. He called her a great actress. And then Hall posted a video inviting him to the DAYS studio. He responded yes. Uplifting stories that shine a light on the soap medium? Sign us up.

    GH

HIT: Gio checks in on Dante. Gio (Giovanni Mazza) and Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) are straight. They are connected and are healing. We have been waiting for Gio to come around on Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and vice versa. With Sonny’s encouragement, Gio checked in on his bio dad after his literal run-in with Jason’s head. And their scenes were awkwardly adorable.

    Y&R

HIT and MISS: Audra admits that Noah’s the one who got away. (HIT): We’re thinking Y&R may know what it’s doing with Noah (Lucas Adams) and Audra (Zuleyka Silver). They keep having these exes cross paths. And every time they do, they both sparkle and light up. It was unexpected but welcome.

(MISS) However, when she said that Noah was the one who got away, it left us wondering about her relationship with Nate (Sean Dominic). Is she suddenly not even thinking about him?
