Were you holding your breath when Kyle (Michael Mealor) called a vote at Jabot to do an IPO on The Young and the Restless (YR)? What about all the times Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) has tried to take over Forrester from his father on The Bold and the Beautiful (BB)?
Let’s not forget the time Olivia Jerome (Tonja Walker) was determined to make condos out of General Hospital (GH), or Stefan (Tyler Christopher), Vivian (Louise Sorel), and Andre (Thaao Penghlis) stole DiMera from Chad (Billy Flynn) on Days of Our Lives (DOOL).
These stories can take up a lot of time on a show, but do you enjoy seeing them? Soap Hub asked if corporate intrigue stories excite you and here are those results.

Perhaps you’d prefer romance and adventure — and even better when those two are combined. After all, it takes you on an escape from your life, which is what we love about our soaps.

Seeing your favorites stuck in a stuffy boardroom doesn’t really fit that bill and isn’t exactly what you consider fun viewing.
Everyone seems angry all the time and that’s not exactly interesting. Of course, if there’s some hanky panky going on, that might make it a bit better.
Given a Promotion
That means the other 34% love the shenanigans that you see at the office! It’s a less bloody way to have conflict and you enjoy seeing your favorites outsmart each other rather than out dumb each other.
This gives them a chance to show off how smart they are and you find that’s what makes soaps interesting!
