Top 10 Hits and Misses
10. MISS: Vanessa pushes her son to go back to school (BTG). It was good to have Vanessa’s son, Donnell (Alex Cheeks), in town. It’s too bad his twin, Deanna, didn’t come into town for her father’s funeral. This week, Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli) gave her son the hard sell on returning to school. And it’s not solely because she wants to see him further his education. It’s because she doesn’t want Donnell around to see her become Joey’s (Jon Lindstrom) equal partner, which means she’ll be doing shady business.
9. HIT: Sally defends Audra to Billy (Y&R). This is why we love the friendship between Sally (Courtney Hope) and Audra (Zuleyka Silver). No matter how much they sabotage themselves, they are each other’s ride-or-die. And Billy (Jason Thompson), who has experienced life as the town screw-up, questioned Sally bringing Audra into Abbott Communications. Sally defended her friend. Loved that.

8. MISS: Stephanie decides to out herself as Anastasia Sands (DAYS). The drama surrounding this book signing and unmasking of the elusive One Stormy Night author just isn’t there. Stephanie (Abigail Klein) and Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) are trying to turn it into a bigger deal than it is. And this has something to do with Jeremy (Michael Roark) somehow? Let’s hope that when the unveiling is executed, the payoff will be there. We just don’t see it right now.
7. HIT: Hayley microdosing Bill and showing her true colors (BTG). Ever since we found out Hayley (Marquita Goings) was a longtime con artist who is now trying to turn into a black widow, we can’t get enough of Hayley. We love hearing what she really thinks about the people around her. She wants to kill Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett), and she couldn’t care less about Caroline (Ellie Wang). It’s great to finally see Hayley’s true colors.
6. HIT and Miss: Daphne and Carter (B&B). While we like the potential that Daphne (Murielle Hilaire) and Carter have as a pairing, it feels like Carter’s romance with Daphne is happening too quickly. At least she said she was going to make him work for this relationship. Carter needs a longer period of single-dom than three days (or less).
5. HIT: Rachel Boyd as Sophia faces the music (DAYS). Sophia had to face the people she hurt, who were gathered at the Brady Pub. But, thankfully, she got a chance to tell them how much pain and trauma they had put her through. And then when the group demanded their own answers, Sophia felt overwhelmed and panicky and had a breakdown. She’s currently catatonic and is on her way to Bayview. Once again, Rachel Boyd knocked it out of the park with her performance.

4. MISS: Chase and Brook Lynn (GH). These two were super frustrating this week. First, Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) didn’t even think twice. She automatically decided Tracy (Jane Elliot) spiked Ronnie’s tea and was okay with Ronnie (Erika Slezak) kicking Tracy out of the Q mansion. And her opinion didn’t budge later in the week when she visited Tracy at Lulu’s (Alexa Havins). Even if Tracy were guilty, she’s family. Defend her! Meanwhile, Chase (Josh Swickard) is on a one-man mission to prove Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) didn’t shoot Drew (Cameron Mathison). Why? What is going on with these two?
3. HIT: Steffy returns, and Steffy and Finn are reunited (B&B). It was great to see Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and her kids back in Los Angeles. The best parts were Steffy’s reunion with Finn (Tanner Novlan), who continued to support Team Steffy in the wake of Luna’s “resurrection.” The Steffy/Luna (Lisa Yamada) confrontation was also a standout.
2. MISS: Phyllis crashes Danny and Christine’s bachelor and bachelorette parties (Y&R). Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) lurked around the parties instead of going up to her room. And then she actually crashed Danny’s (Michael Damian) and Christine’s (Lauralee Bell) respective parties, where she ranted and then acted like she was the victim. Didn’t we get enough of this earlier that day at Crimson Lights? Thankfully, Phyllis was able to later experience a breakthrough with Danny and gave her blessing to the impending marriage.
1. HIT: Jane Elliot as Tracy Quartermaine at Brook Lynn’s welcome party for Ronnie (GH). Just go to the end of Tuesday’s episode and watch a master class of acting from Jane Elliot after Ronnie kicked Tracy out of the Q mansion. Elliot was riveting and heartbreaking as she insisted that she 1) Didn’t drug Ronnie and 2) Talked about why she felt that Monica didn’t leave the house for Ronnie. It’s a moment that needs to be watched over and over again. That’s how good she was.

Relationship Corner
Saddest Moment: Xander and Sarah split seemingly for good (DAYS). We can’t forget that Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) referred to Xander (Paul Telfer) as “pure evil.” It’s going to take a long time to get over that.
Best Sibling Moment: Xander tells Philip that he’s his only friend in Salem (DAYS). It’s a bit unbelievable that Xander and Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) are becoming two of our favorite Daytime TV brothers. But it’s happening.
Brought the Tears: Lois’s goodbye to Brook Lynn (GH). Lois telling her estranged daughter that she was leaving the country to go on tour with Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) turned out to be an emotional, tear-jerking conversation. Setton and Rena Sofer made this scene look effortless. It was so good.
Most Romantic Move: Dani turns down Forrester Creations because her husband is camera-shy (BTG). Dani (Karla Mosley) had no problem turning Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) down after she put herself in her husband’s place. She knew Andre (Sean Freeman) didn’t want to model. Then she decided to really listen to him. And ultimately, it became a no-brainer of a decision, even though Forrester Creations was her white whale of modeling gigs.

Yikes! This is Conflict, No Resolution: Abe is beyond angry with Paulina (DAYS). Theo (Tyler Joseph Andrews) becoming CEO of DiMera Enterprises triggered Abe (James Reynolds) big time. He can only think in terms of how the DiMeras will influence his son for the worse. And the fact that Paulina (Jackée Harry) acted as a sounding board for Theo and even encouraged him to take the job doesn’t sit well with Abe, and now he and his wife are experiencing a major conflict.
Set Spotlight
B&B: Spencer Publications is back. These days, we don’t see the Spencer Publications set that much. But this week, Dollar Bill (Don Diamont), Katie (Heather Tom), Will (Crew Morrow), and Liam (Scott Clifton) sat in Bill’s office talking about Luna, Lope, and more. It was nice to see this set in use.

Honorable Mentions
B&B
HIT: The show answered a burning question. We always suspected that the last time Luna was in jail, she arranged for someone to beat her up to get on Bill’s good side. But we don’t think they ever answered the question. Well, now we know that that is exactly what she did. Luna was back in jail for two seconds, and she arranged for her cellmate to, once again, cause some bruises. But she made sure to keep the blows to her face since Luna is pregnant. It got Will to visit her, didn’t it?
BTG
HIT and MISS: Naomi and Jacob. There was a lot of talking and debating about a pregnancy that turned out to be a scare. But now Naomi (Arielle Prepetit) and Jacob (Jibre Hordges) know how each other feels, and it might have caused permanent damage to yet another BTG Dupree couple. This was an important subject, but it was also difficult to see this solid couple potentially bite the dust. They’re still together, but who knows for how much longer.
DAYS
HIT: Gabi and Philip. We don’t know if Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) and Philip are a couple made for the long haul, but for however long they last, we will enjoy them.
GH
HIT: Carly teams up with Valentin. Carly (Laura Wright) donned a bad wig and glasses and headed into Steinmauer for a secret meeting with Valentin (James Patrick Stuart). She is determined to bring down Jack (Chris McKenna) after discovering that he recruited her daughter for the WSB. And now she and Valentin will work together against Jack. Such a good twist.
Y&R
MISS: Kyle shows up in LA. He knows he shouldn’t have travelled to Los Angeles. But he did anyway. Claire (Hayley Erin) asked for time and space, and he gave her two days of it (or so). He says he’s going back to Genoa City, but before that happens, he stops by Sienna’s club to interrogate her about Holden and then talks about needing information to put Audra in her place. He needs to let go of the stress he’s putting himself under.
