Soap Hub looks at the Hits and Misses for the week of November 3-7 in the worlds of Days of Our Lives, General Hospital, The Bold and the Beautiful, The Young and the Restless, and Beyond the Gates.

Key Takeaways (Hits & Misses: November 3–7)

  • Days of Our Lives broke hearts with its emotional adoption storyline — the year’s biggest tearjerker.
  • General Hospital’s Monica left Tracy the Quartermaine mansion, sparking nostalgia and pride.
  • Beyond the Gates soared with Dani and Andre’s deep, romantic breakthroughs.
  • The Young and the Restless fans are still processing that Sienna–Noah twist.
  • The Bold and the Beautiful brought back sassy, centered Steffy — and we loved every second.

Top 10 Hits and Misses

10. MISS: Ridge, Brooke, and Donna talk about the Will/Luna situation for an entire episode (B&B). While the scenes of Katie (Heather Tom) and Bill (Don Diamont) supporting Will (Crew Morrow) on Friday were emotional and much needed, the Ridge (Thorsten Kaye), Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang), and Donna (Jennifer Gareis) scenes: not so much. All we needed from them was the reminder of Katie’s past heart transplant and the story behind it. Feels like that was the one purpose of their conversation.

9. HIT: New Noah is introduced (Y&R). Lucas Adams’ Noah Newman had an instant rapport and chemistry with Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon (Sharon Case). We’re encouraged and excited to see more of this family dynamic.

8. MISS: Jennifer can’t keep her hate for Cat away from Thomas (DAYS). Sure, Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) managed to say some wise things, like it’s not good to hurt others for any reason, and that Chad (Billy Flynn) loved Thomas (Cary Christopher). But her Cat (AnnaLynne McCord) hate flared, and while it’s understandable why she feels the way she feels, she’s stoking Thomas’ hate whether she intends to or not.

7. Sassy Steffy is back, although it hits a little differently this time around (B&B). This week, Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) confronted Sheila (Kimberlin Brown), made nice with Hope (Annika Noelle), and got a few digs in during her conversation with Brooke and Ridge. But the tense moments didn’t come off as in-your-face. She unleashed her anger and sarcastic comments from a more zen place. It was fun to watch.

6. MISS: Anita puts down Vernon’s vocal skills (BTG). Even though we feel like Vernon’s insecurity about his vocal skills will pay off this holiday season (we know Clifton Davis can really sing!), it was difficult to hear Anita (Tamara Tunie) insult our Vernon. She meant well, and she is a very realistic and blunt person. But for those of us who are sensitive people, it was a little painful to watch a dejected Vernon. But he will make a comeback. Trust.

5. HIT: Monica leaves Tracy the house (GH). Last week, Tracy (Jane Elliot) found Monica’s original will. This week, Michael (Rory Gibson) read through the document and was the one to tell Tracy that he didn’t get the house. Monica (the late Leslie Charleson) left it to Tracy. Yes, it’s Tracy’s house, and Monica left it to her. It was an emotional moment — and a poignant reminder of how we become attached to certain characters. We were invested in Tracy becoming the new head of the Quartermaine family.

4. MISS: Portia thinks Jordan wants her baby (GH). Portia (Brook Kerr) didn’t hold back with Jordan (Tanisha Harper) when she confronted her about spilling the tea on her pregnancy. It wasn’t Jordan’s story to tell, plain and simple. It doesn’t matter how many lies the doctor tells; it wasn’t Jordan’s story to blab. Portia had us. To paraphrase Tyra Banks from America’s Next Top Model, “We were rooting for you!” And then Portia said, more than once, that Jordan can’t have her baby. What now? Where did that come from? And what does she mean by that? Portia kind of lost us there. Not going to lie.

3. HIT: Everything Dani and Andre (BTG). It was an embarrassment of riches for Dani (Karla Mosley) and Andre (Sean Freeman). They had a breakthrough in their relationship when Andre opened up about his tragic past. He decided to say yes to the Forrester Creations photo shoot. They would honor Andre’s father with a charitable foundation. Andre chose Dani over Ashley (Jen Jacob). And that photo shoot rehearsal montage was epic. BTG lifted our hearts and souls with so much Dani and Andre goodness, we’re now afraid we’re headed for a massive fall. At least Dandre fans were well-fed and well-supported this week.

2. MISS: Sienna and Noah (Y&R). If you’re a DAYS and a Y&R fan, then finding out Sienna and Noah had an affair made you feel a type of way. On the Peacock soap, Adams and Tamara Braun played mother and son. On Y&R, they are now lovers. And we can’t unsee that, no matter how many times we remind ourselves that they are actors and none of this is real, they are not related in any capacity. We’ll get over it, but it will take some time.

1. HIT: The adoption episode (DAYS). In 2025, DAYS has made us sob more than any other soap, or primetime show for that matter. Hands down. And the same happened in Wednesday’s episode, which was totally devoted to the Hernandez family and Leo (Greg Rikaart) giving up Tesoro. Johnny (Carson Boatman) and Chanel (Raven Bowens) finally became parents, and while we rejoiced in that fact, it was tough to see the process of a family having to let go in order to create another family. And Johnny and Chanel renamed the kid Trey, as in John III! The cast had us feeling all the feelings. It was an emotional, uplifting, and bittersweet episode. Well done.

Hit AND Miss

GH: Tracy apologizes to Ronnie, and the Quartermaines apologize to Tracy. Jane Elliot did it. Tracy apologized to Ronnie (Erika Slezak), and the actress sold every second, every word, and every emotion. However, we were Team Tracy, and while her apology was everything, her family’s apology to her didn’t feel as earned. We wish Tracy had made them work for her forgiveness longer.

Handling Therapy on TV

The Right Way (BTG): Jacob (Jibre Hordges) turned to his wife’s aunt for professional advice about his marriage. Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) referred Jacob to another therapist because he’s family. That means she can’t treat him.

The Wrong Way (B&B): Meanwhile, Deacon (Sean Kanan) can’t just let Taylor (Rebecca Budig) work her therapist magic in their sessions. Nope. He feels like he needs to be a healing force for her and help her with the lasting damage that the waffling Ridge caused. That’s well and good. Just not in this professional setting. The lines are blurred, and without sounding like a broken record, she needs to refer him to someone else and then proceed with healing each other in however way they want.

Easter Egg Time

DAYS Part 1: The Peacock soap dropped a Santa Barbara reference. EJ thanked the Lockeridges for their generous donation to Dr. Tom Horton Free Clinic and said he would see them at the gala. Lionel and August Lockeridge were characters on Santa Barbara. And DAYS’ own Louise Sorel (Vivian Alamain) played Louise. The late Nicolas Coster was Lionel, and they were such a deliciously devious duo.

DAYS Part 2: During Leo and Gwen’s tête-à-tête at the Brady Pub, Leo made a pop culture reference. Gwen (Emily O’Brien) did her best to create a distraction so that Leo wouldn’t interfere with EJ’s plans for the free clinic. She wanted him to track down a missing Dimitri, whom she claimed had been spotted recently. Leo said he’d think about it, but what if the missing person wasn’t Dimitri and instead it was some random Hallmark movie actor? Well, Peter Porte, who played Dimitri, has starred in Hallmark movies such as Notes of Autumn, Yuletide in the Knot, and A Gift to Remember.

Honorable Mentions

B&B

HIT: More Heather Tom. B&B is finally serving up more Heather Tom in front of the camera, and as Katie, she’s not just listening to other people’s problems. It’s Katie’s son who’s being targeted, and therefore the drama revolves around her family.

BTG

HIT: Joey and Izaiah don’t just know each other; they love each other. This reunion between Joey (Jon Lindstrom) and Izaiah (David Lami Friebe) was unexpected, and we loved learning about their shared history. It also gave us the chance to see a different side to Joey Armstrong.

DAYS

HIT: Chad and Brady don’t let their kids get away with their bad behavior. Chad and Brady (Eric Martsolf) parented their kids this week. It was so good to see them tell Thomas and Rachel (Alice Halsey), respectively, that attempted murder is not acceptable, not even with a catapulted pumpkin.

GH

HIT: Sam and Maxie are celebrated and remembered. Sam (Kelly Monaco) is gone, and Maxie (Kirsten Storms) is in a coma. It has been a year since Sam died, and Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) had that great conversation with Danny (Asher Antonyzyn). Alexis, Kristina (Kate Mansi), and Molly (Kristen Vaganos) were there for Scout (Cosette Abinante). She wasn’t alone on this anniversary, and that’s what mattered. Meanwhile, at Bobbie’s, Felicia (Kristina Wagner), Nathan (Ryan Paevey), and Spinelli (Bradford) helped James (Gary James Fuller) celebrate Maxie’s birthday. Both celebrations were touching, and we’re so happy the show acknowledged Sam and Maxie this Halloween.

Y&R

HIT: Nikki supports Sharon at the Los Angeles hospital. We’re so used to Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) making snide remarks about Sharon. It was nice to see her support Sharon while Noah was in a coma. Another child experiencing a nasty car accident is beyond triggering for Sharon. Witnessing Nikki being there for her former daughter-in-law was great.
