All My Children Reunion Alert: Dixie And Junior Together Again!

They never should have been torn apart to begin with, but when ABC canceled All My Children and Prospect Park left the series in the lurch, the relationship between our favorite mother son pair of Dixie Cooney Martin and Adam ‘JR’ Chandler Jr. was left in the lurch as well.

But, on Monday, not only do Dixie and JR reunite on ABC’s Strahan and Sara, the extended version of Good Morning America, but they had a pre-reunion this weekend in a very public place.

The pair was on their way from Los Angeles to New York City — back to where All My Children taped for decades. And, they ran into each other at the airport to catch up.

Young played McClain’s young adult son, who was known as Junior as a child, but then adopted the name JR when he grew. Of course, Junior was for Adam Chandler Jr, a result of a one-night-stand in 1988 between Adam Chandler and a much younger Dixie Cooney.

“Can you tell we’re related? (Lol!) check out our matching scarves, “McClain wrote on Instagram by a snap of the two. “We didn’t even have to call each other! What a blessing to get to catch up with my long lost son.”

Young tweeted the same photo, saying, “CadyMcClain and I are on our way NY! Can’t wait to catch up with everyone from ‘All My Children’ on the StrahanAndSara show! Tomorrow February 11 at 1pm/12c…”

McClain and Young won’t be the only AMC alum appearing on Strahan and Sara, which ironically airs in the beloved soap’s old ABC time slot. Expect to also see Pine Valley mainstays Susan Lucci (Erica Kane), Jill Larson (Opal Cortlandt), and Walt Willey (Jackson Montgomery).

But, ya know what fans really want to see at 1 PM EST, ABC? All My Children. The whole thing. With all the characters we loved for decades back in Pine Valley making us smile. (Trust us.)
